Detroit Lions general manager said that they definitely take into account how deep a draft class is at each position when formulating a free agency plan.

“You’ve got to look at the entire landscape of what might be heavy in free agency might not be heavy in the draft and vice versa,” Quinn said. “Definitely that’s a big part of the equation that you have to study.”

So, with that in mind, take a look at what they’ve emphasized so far. The biggest take away is the movement along the offensive line. That tells me they were interested in taking care of that in pre-draft as to focus on another position at No. 21. My guess is in the front seven, and here they take the sliding Reuben Foster.

Foster was dismissed from the Combine before he was even able to workout thanks to an altercation he got into with a medical worker during his evaluation. The report is that Foster didn’t want to wait in line like the rest of the prospects and made a scene about.

Does an incident like that matter for a star linebacker prospect? Absolutely not. His slide here is more due to the position he plays and Haason Reddick going in front of him.
