Their Pick: Stanford DT Solomon Thomas

The Falcons haven’t been too active in free agency thus far, but that’s to be expected with a team that just went to the Super Bowl – don’t use the Patriots as an example, they are always the outlier. Atlanta already has their main pieces in place. What they should do with their first round pick is continue to fortify their defensive line.

They do so here with one of the better defensive line prospects in the entire draft. Thomas probably won’t make the slide this far, but there just aren’t a lot of team who need interior or “tweener” defensive line help that haven’t already addressed most of that need during free agency. Because of that, Thomas makes his way to Atlanta via the second to last pick in the draft.
