This Darby guy is like a bad penny – always around when something goes wrong. Wasn’t he in the room during the FSU tryst. Like the Uber ride, always around, but never gets to go all the way. lol.

It sounds to me like Winston lied and Darby lied both should be suspended for the three games. Now I understand why Winston will not appeal because he lied. If he doesn’t come forward and say that he did not tell the truth then I am done with him. I wouldn’t let him play another football game in Tampa and I would trade him.

Very disgusted with Winston and have supported him all the way, but not now.
If he doesn’t come clean and apologize to the Uber driver and give her some money and apologize to Tampa Bay and his teammates then it’s time to move on from Jameis Winston. Bucs need to step up and demand the apology from Winston.

Apologize for what ? Was he ever charged with a crime? Was a Law Enforcement investigation initiated? NO. She didn’t even make a police report. He doesn’t owe anyone an apology.

He lied and if you don’t understand it then there is nothing I can say to change your opinion.

Lied about what? They didn’t say Darby lied about being in the car, they said he wasn’t there when it happened. He was in the Uber with Jameis wasn’t he? How was he supposed to know if Jameis did anything when he left. Also, they are suspending him because what might have happened and not what did happen. Given his background he was in line for a 8 game suspension. This is a you better watch yourself situation. Plus if Jameis admits anything he would be line for another suspension and charges filed against him, so no there isn’t anything… Read more »

You know BucNnole, it is entirely possible to do something that doesn’t result in your arrest that merits an apology. I mean we aren’t talking about stealing crab legs, shooting BB guns, yelling at the student union to F her right in the P or taking free cups of soda at a Burger King when the manager tells you not to. Naturally such things aren’t worthy of apology and will be forgotten the second a very dumb, stupid, GM “does his homework” and selects your number one overall. But maybe just maybe, a random woman in Arizona who alleges you… Read more »

Really – I can name 100% kids who do that. Yeah they should get reprimand but ruin a career. No.

Taking Soda? Yelling? OH the HORROR.

Meek Mill is a CRIMINAL with illegal Gun, parole violations out the wazoo, and Assault charges in Stlouis airport… Yet Eagles owner Jeff lurie and Pat’s Kraft celebrate him with limo service from PRISON and court side seats for Boston/Sixers games with them.

LEGAUE IS A JOKE and Winston is getting railroaded.

Agreed 100%. Minor incident at worst by BS by idiot Uber driver. If bad she’d have called the cops right then and there.

And who puts a drunk young man in the front seat when the back is supposedly no one else in car? RAILROADing of Winston in Progress

All due respect, we do not know the truth. The NFL has selectively released their perspective on this to get precisely the reaction they want. If Jamies truly did something wrong, law enforcement would have been involved.

I think this is just the new NFL. Goodell is the worst commission in the history of the league. I’ll stick with the Bucs, but screw the rest of NFL.

And until James says otherwise, I’m sticking with him too.

Yeah Dman, I remember defending Jameis years ago too. I took the circumstances of the rape allegation, poked the holes of it and it all looked very suspicious to me.

In the end we’ll probably never know if Jameis did something inappropriate with Erica Kinsman or this uber driver. But Dman, my question to you is this, how many times does someone need to be accused of something before you think there might be truth to it? Is 3 the magic number? 5? How many?

I hear that Devasher, and can no way disagree that Jamies lacks maturity. He’s put himself in bad situations. Bad decision, no question. But that was fully two years ago. Each year he’s coming coming around.

We can all debate the FSU allegations and I’m sure you’ve got your insiders as I have mine. I don’t put much stock in those Kinsman allegations as Jamies has been acquitted multiple times. The other stuff was just stupid.

The one thing I will say, is that I don’t think Jamies is a “Bad Guy”. Hopefully this is the last time.

All this tweet says is that he wasn’t in the car the whole time – not that he wasn’t in the car when it happened.

If Winston was alone – why didn’t the driver tell him to sit in the back seat. She’s full of it.

You had the rape accusation, lobster at Publix, obscenity in the cafeteria got him suspended now this….very unfortunate. I agree with the no criminal ascpect but that’s not the issue. Perception is awful and the quarterback play has not overcome the character. He’s on the bubble. If he doesn’t light it up this season when he gets on the field, he’s finished here.

My former comments were based on Jameis being suspended for failure to report because the NFL did not find him guilty of the offense. If the current accounts are true it is obvious the NFL Acted because Jameis lied as did Darby. If those are the facts Jameis deserved to be suspended and he was lucky to agree no appeal and get it down to three games. He also let his team and his supporters down and he may be lucky to keep his marriage too. He has to come clean and this may effect his play just like it… Read more »

“Let his team and supporters down” “Lucky to keep his marriage” What? You serious bro? Is it a felony to jaywalk now? People are acting like they’re personally invested in Winston and that the dude owes something to them. He doesn’t.

People are acting like the NFL is the pinnacle of neutral investigation when it has been proven numerous times throughout the years that it is anything but. It’s about the shield and they’ll say and do anything to make it look good.

I would make Winston the back up. I would also look for a new QB. Winston is not mature enough to handle the responsibility.

Dundaz

Some comments on here about the suspension being because “he lied”. How factual is that? My understanding is that he is getting suspended because the Bucs did not REPORT the issue to the NFL when it was raised by Uber, which in the policy in place at the time was mandatory for the team to report but that changed later in 2016 making it mandatory for the player himself to report.
My understanding so far is that the issue is not lying or the assault, but the failure to communicate the allegation of assault.

The NFL creates it own Moral high ground – he lied to us… boo hoo stop investigating every little BS story and focus on the game. NFL throwing players under bus. Goodell ruining the game.

I thought Darby should be suspended for lying to the NFL, but it seems the only liar is Winston. Darby did say nothing happened when he was in the car, but he wasn’t in the car the whole time, that changes things. Was threr a third person, or was that Winston B.S.? Winston is on his fifth year option, and can always be franchised after that. He better ball out, and stay as clean as a cub scout the next couple of years. No way now do I give him a fat contract.

Lost in all of this is the fact that he straight up lied in his statement last November and basically called the driver a liar.

“I believe the driver was confused as to the number of passengers in the car and who was sitting next to her.”

So he really was in the car alone with her then he basically called this lady a liar to the world. Even without proof of him groping her, should could (should) go after him for that statement alone.

Oh dear – my heart bleeds for this woman – come on now. She lets a grown drunk man in the front seat, then claim he grabbed her with no evidence and people buy that BS?

Maybe she was flirting and he touched her for 3 seconds and when she said back off SHE said he did – you want to ruin Winston over that? What a disgrace

It is always something distracting from football with Jamies Winston, from high INT and fumbles to personal fouls- eating fingers loudest mouthpiece in NFL with fewest wins, Do you people really think experienced veterans like hearing all that BS did Bucs really think the off-field incidents would go away once he was signed? Even if I do not like the Bucs management choices this offseason I do know there are a lot of good people working hard to make this season better and to have this distraction to start the season, a season with 11 out of 16 games against… Read more »

What is it with you and “fat vea” I’d love to see what you look like so I could point out all your short comings. The mans never played a snap and yet you label him as a bust. Your such a douche it’s laughable. Yeah, we should’ve picked Allen who everyone and their brother say he’s a project at best, but I forget you know more than everyone else. Keep spitting worthless jargon because I do get a laugh out of the fact that your serious when you make these comments

I mean this does not look good. But at the same time this is a straight up he said she said. No evidence, no police report, just a complaint to Uber. Did he actually do it, no one will ever know unless he admits it. But lets be honest he is suspended for the first 3 games we were going to be extremely lucky to win 2 out of 3 anyways. I think Fitz can pull off at least 1 win for us, especially if this reshaped defense plays like they are supposed to.

From what I can tell they used GPS tracking to determine that Darby was not in the car the entire ride, proving that an alibi that Jameis couldn’t have done anything because Darby was with him the entire time a lie. While the grabbing of an uber driver may not be provable, the fact that Jameis lied about the circumstances of who was in the car at the time is.

And if Jameis is lying about who is in the car, then maybe he’s lying about other things too.

I have supported the Tampa Bay Buccanneers as a team from 1975. I love the entertainment of rooting for my team as they compete year in and year out. I watch the draft, follow OTA’s, training camp and watch all preseason games. I loved the Dungy years, as we became not only competitive, but when the character of the team and players mattered. We had not only a team, but players we could root for. Then Gruden came with a championship. I continued following the team through the up and downs. Sunday’s, a day to look forward to, as my… Read more »

The NFL has confirmed NOTHING. SOMEBODY selectively leaked SOMETHING to support their position through a REPORTER , not an official statement, not a report from the league, no accounting of the facts or evidence to support their decision. There are NO corroborating facts. They have lead everyone to a conclusion that Jamies lied. And most of you have taken that bait. The NFL is accountable to no one. But hey, if there’s enough garbage out there on the net it must be true, right? Good lord.

Until Jamies tells us what happened and changes his story, I’m sticking with him.

That’s right Dman. The nfl has already come out today and said that jameis was confirmed to be in the back seat. No where anywhere has the neck said he lied to them so I’m not sure where all this is coming from.
