In cross-conference news that could impact the Bucs, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel has tested positive for COVID-19. Vrabel and the Titans spent the past week in Tampa Bay, participating in joint practices with the Bucs. On Saturday night Vrabel’s Titans defeated the Buccaneers in preseason action, 34-3.

Vrabel told Tennessee media that, as of Sunday afternoon, no other Titans coaches had tested positive. Bucs head coach Bruce Arians didn’t mention anything in his comments to the media nearly an hour before Vrabel’s presser.
In several pictures throughout the week, Vrabel spent a considerable amount of time chatting with Tom Brady and Bruce Arians on the practice field. At least one day after practice, Vrabel was seen talking in close contact with Brady and the quarterback’s son, Jack. Tracking chips worn by all players and coaches will determine how the Bucs proceed with potential close contacts.
When Arians last spoke to the media, he said the team was set to be 92 percent vaccinated by August 13. The Bucs head coach also said the team should be almost 100 percent vaccinated by the regular season. Tampa Bay is set to resume practice on Monday in preparation to play the Houston Texans on Saturday night.
