Another day of camp and another day of Ryan Fitzpatrick under center for the Buccaneers. Jameis Winston continued to take second and third team reps, and it appears head coach Dirk Koetter is laser focused on Week 1 against the Saints.

PewterReport.com’s Mark Cook and Trevor Sikkema discussed the second day of camp on WFLA.com. You can watch the video below.

  1. Best thing I’ve heard from camp so far! Jameis needs to be treated as the bordeline member of this team that he is… not borderline talentwise, but just one off-field transgression away from a yearlong ban from the NFL. No “C” on his jersey, no first team reps, no speeches in front of the team… as Koetter said, he needs to lead from the back. Day after day in camp of quiet effort. Three weeks of uneventful, out-of-the-spotlight suspension. Then, let’s think about whether he’s ready to truly man up and be a leader and face of this franchise. I probably would replace him now if I were GM, but as a fan I truly hope he makes it all the way back a changed man. His talented man-child act has gone way past “silly” and needs to disappear forever!

  2. I think this is the right move. I think the players like Fitz and will give their all to do their part to make him successful.

I want to see our explosive players make explosive plays honestly don’t care who’s QB if that’s happening.

  3. I’ve gotten on Koetter when I thought it was deserved, so I have to give him credit now. I love the way he’s handling the situation. He stated his disappointment, now it’s time to play the cards you’re dealt. Jameis can lead from behind, no better way to put it. The Glazers have been hammered for not speaking out, but their actions have been heard loudly. Taking Jameis’s picture down, and keeping him out of the media package speaks to how they feel.

  4. There are 13 other games after the suspension, Koetter better be getting Winston some work along with Fitz. Doubtful the Bucs have any chance of a playoff run with Fitz at the helm, they need Winston to be ready.
