It is NFL Draft season and the mock drafts from the NFL experts and pundits are being published nearly every day and making their picks for the Bucs. Every Monday until the 2019 NFL Draft in April, PewterReport.com will scour the Internet to find the list of players that are projected to Tampa Bay and put out the list with the links. –

NEW MOCKS THIS WEEK

CBSSports.com – Ryan Wilson
Bucs’ First Round Pick: LSU LB Devin White
“Offensive line is an obvious need, too, but White fills a hole in the middle of the defense and he is one of the most dynamic players in the draft. He’s a sideline-to-sideline thumper who will make life easier for both the front four and the secondary.” – Ryan Wilson
Bucs’ Second Round Pick: Central Michigan CB Sean Bunting
Bucs’ Third Round Pick: Louisiana Tech DE Jaylon Ferguson

SBNation.com – Dan Kadar
Bucs’ First Round Pick: LSU LB Devin White
“There has been a lot of talk connecting the Buccaneers to Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver. While he’s a very good player, it’s hard to see the value while Tampa Bay still has Gerald McCoy on the roster. White is an excellent player in his own right, and he could star on the team’s defense for years.” – Dan Kadar

NFL.com – Charles Davis
Bucs’ First Round Pick: LSU LB Devin White
“I still believe that Mississippi State edge rusher Montez Sweat is a strong possibility here, but with former Bucs MLB Kwon Alexander now in San Francisco, Tampa Bay reloads with another LSU sideline-to-sideline speed merchant who thumps.” – Charles Davis

Newsday.com – Nick Klopsis
Bucs’ First Round Pick: LSU LB Devin White
“Kwon Alexander signed with San Francisco, and newcomer Deone Bucannon is more of a “moneybacker” (a safety/linebacker hybrid) than a pure inside linebacker, so the Bucs could use someone opposite Lavonte David for their new 3-4 scheme. Devin White is versatile enough to play any linebacker spot. He has the range to make plays in the passing game and can get downhill quickly to stop the run.” – Nick Klopsis

DraftWire.com – Luke Easterling
Bucs’ First Round Pick:  Houston DT Ed Oliver
Bucs’ Second Round Pick: Boston College OG Chris Lindstrom
Bucs’ Third Round Pick: Florida OLB Jachai Polite
Bucs’ Fourth Round Pick: Georgia WR Mecole Hardman
Bucs’ Fifth Round Pick: James Madison CB Jimmy Moreland
Bucs’ Sixth Round Pick(From PHI): Texas A&M RB Trayveon Williams
Bucs’ Seventh Round Pick(From ARI): Wisconsin LB T.J.Edwards

247Sports.com – Lance Cartelli
Bucs’ First Round Pick: Mississippi State DE Montez Sweat
“Other than Murray, nobody has had a better pre-draft process than Sweat. The Mississippi State pass rusher has skyrocketed up the draft boards because of a strong week at the Senior Bowl and an otherworldly NFL Scouting Combine.” – Lance Cartelli

NYPost.com – Steve Serby
Bucs’ First Round Pick: Mississippi State DE Montez Sweat
“Best available edge rusher for coordinator Todd Bowles and a bookend for Jason Pierre-Paul.” – Steve Serby

  1. The more I watch footage of Ed Oliver, the more I appreciate his motor and his ability to use his hands. That guy is a play maker.

Interesting that the national media is finally catching up with PR on Bucs taking Devin White. I think there will be better players at 5, so I don’t think they take him if they stay at 5.

Luke Easterling has Jachai Polite sliding to the Bucs in the 3rd round? His first 3 rounds would be a dream draft IMO.

  2. Yeah – I agree that Polite falling to us in the 3rd round isn’t likely, but if our draft fell the way Easterling predicted I’d not be able to contain myself. That’s about a dream scenario in my opinion. But I’d be ecstatic about it though.

  3. I like Williams over Oliver at DT if we stay at #5, and I don’t care for the WR since we are loaded even with Hump and the Diva being gone. Otherwise, I love Easterling’s picks!

  4. I think most of us would prefer Williams over Oliver at 5. However it would be a HUGE surprise if somehow Williams was there when the Bucs are on the clock. In the scenario where Bosa, Allen, and Q. Williams are off the board at 5, I think MOST of us would be ok with Oliver at that point. I’d also be ok with a little trade back and maybe select Burns around 10 or so and picking up some valuable extra picks. Goodness knows the Bucs need all the bodies they can get out of the draft with our salary cap situation.

  5. I would rather have Burns than Oliver… I have read quite a few “Buyer Beware” particles about Oliver and it’s turned me off completely from picking him… I saw a few on Allen and Ferguson as well…

  6. Football Outsiders ate Oliver as a steal who should be the first player taken in the draft.

  7. Lots of people are tryin to make Oliver out to be the next Aaron Donald but I’ve been reading he’s too small and won’t be able to get bigger than 290 and has small hands and he needs the perfect system with 2 killer DEs in order for him to succeed and that he cannot be a Nose Tackle. So where would he play for us? Granted the media doesn’t know everything and for all we know he could turn out to be better than Oliver!

I am just tired of picking Top 5 picks that have question marks because with the Bucs Lucm any time someone has question marks they always come to fruition for us instead of them being a surprise Superstar despite the questions…

  9. Any of the top 3 defensive players would be incredible if they slide to 5. I’ll keep saying it until the draft that I seriously hope we don’t take Devin White. The other Devin will be a better pro at a much lower cost. White is Barret Rudd in Dakota Watson’s body. I just don’t see him being great.

  10. spitfire: not sure what info u got but just fyi! Oliver an inch taller over Donald, 6-2, to 6-1 and weight same, but check out combine performance, although really don’t mean shit! He did get triple teamed quite a bit in college and Houston ain’t bad! Watch highlights on Oliver? Definitely some red flags, but safe pic seems D White-LSU-ILB?! So guess that means we pick neither of these guys but would luv either pic!!!

  11. I’ve always thought it to be hypocritical when these Draft “experts” focus on a team’s perceived needs when making their predictions rather than the player most worthy. At the #5 spot is Devin White the BPA? Perhaps, but I believe he keeps getting slotted to the Bucs because of the departure of Kwon Alexander. If four defensive linemen are chosen ahead of us, is the fifth one the BPA over the other positions? I haven’t seen any offensive linemen or running back I would consider a top 5 talent. If the BPA is one of the WR’s or TE’s, should we still take him or trade back? Which CB is rated that highly? Safeties don’t typically go high. Unless Buc Ass Bob sneaks into the war room and threatens a filibuster if Jason doesn’t chose a QB, that’s out. To me the most logical move, unless teams move ahead of us to draft a QB, WR or TE, is to trade down.
