Following his altercation on the sideline with Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore, Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans has been suspended one game by the NFL.

Evans was not ejected from the game, but he probably should have been. If he would have been ejected, he likely would not have been suspended, as is the case most of the time in the NFL – see A.J. Green not getting suspended for his fight with Jalen Ramsey.
Quickly after the news came down that he was being suspended, it was then reported that Evans will be appealing that suspension.

However, on Tuesday, Evans’ suspension was upheld by appeals officer James Thrash and Evans apologized for his actions.
“I want to sincerely apologize for my actions during Sunday’s game,” Evans said. “I saw my quarterback getting shoved and I let my emotions get the better of me. My response was not appropriate and not a true indication of who I am as a player and a person. I take pride in playing the game the right way and I realize it was unprofessional and hurt my team.”
