Fans have been clamoring for a return to the “Throwback Game” where the Bucs breakout the creamsicle uniforms and the winking Bucco Bruce.
Unfortunately for fans and the organization, NFL rules have put a stop to the tradition due to their one helmet per season rule.

On Thursday, Bucs chief operating officer Brian Ford spoke to select media members about the upcoming training camp schedule but also gave us an opportunity to ask other questions.
PewterReport.com asked Ford specifically about the throwback game and if it might happen in 2021.
“The safety of our players is the No. 1 reason and the changing of the helmet, but we are very optimistic as technology enchantments come about we will be able rekindle that,” Ford said. “It won’t be this season. We don’t have anything to announce on that. But I assure you it’s not if, it’s just when. It’s very important to our fan base as well as to the Glazer family and our entire organization. We love to just kind of reminisce and kind of play some 70’s and 80’s music and bring out the big pom poms and bring out the creamsicles.
“So it’s not a question of if, its just when and we will definitely keep you posted.”
