After head coach Bruce Arians announced on Monday that running back Ronald Jones II had a potentially fractured pinky that may require surgery, similar to receiver Chris Godwin who fractured a finger in the Bucs’ Week 7 match-up with the Las Vegas Raiders, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times has reported that Jones is scheduled for a surgical procedure on the finger.

Jones was able to return to the Bucs’ Week 14 contest against the Vikings after suffering the injury, but Arians said on Monday that the team will have to “wait and see” how the injury develops when it comes to his availability moving forward. Godwin was forced to miss one game following his procedure, a Monday Night Football game against the Giants in Week 8, but was able to return to the field and play through the injury starting in Week 9.

Time for Leonard Fournette to earn what he’s being paid and live up to his potential

He has the ability, he just needs to work on his vision.

He should be able to fill in, I’d rather roll the dice on Vaughn though and see what he’s got. I doubt Fournette or McCoy are here next season.

I think we need to roll with Fournette. Like any back, he needs to get some reps in there to get a feel for the game and get warmed up. We’ve had too many losses to hand over the reigns to Vaughn at this point. But I wouldn’t mind seeing him get a tote or two. Our running game needs to be strong from here on out and Fournette can do just that. In all of these past losses we hardly ran the ball, and that was revealing. We became one dimensional on offense allowing defenses to tee off on… Read more »

Hopefully he’ll be able to tough through like CW did. I’m rooting for him to break 1,000 yards this season. Not to mention I’d like to have all hands on deck against ATL.

This is probably the most likely scenario as I don’t feel the staff is very high on Fournette, and for good reason.

It’s the teams that successfully deal with adversity be it injuries or CoVid that will be able to succeed and advance come playoff time. Here’s hoping that Fournette and the rookie RB Vaughn and McCoy can step up and in and help the Bucs get to the playoffs. While the schedule does seem to be in the Buc’s favor, u still have to go out and win the games! The dirty birds would love to play the spoiler role against the Bucs.

Mccoy showed some burst Sunday which he should after sitting on his ass all season! Lol. Fournette runs like a sissy and has no vision. He’s not even caught ball well. Hope Jones is back soon. Hard to hold ball like that I’m sure. Funny all arm chair coaches calling Jones a bust last year and saying we needed help. I said all along he’s gonna be fine it’s more this O line. They went out and signed big name free agent RB’s that all stink compared to Jones! He just needs work on catching more.

Do we know which finger and which hand. Makes a difference…

I’ve read it’s his pinky finger, not sure which hand though

Is that the reason for his dropped passes? If so, there is hope after surgery.

Let’s hope for the best. As big as Fournette is he’s a tentative runner and needs a hole. I will role the dice with Shady and Vaughn.

Time for Vaughn to get a chance to step up. Fournette sure hasn’t. McCoy is good when rested, and may be able to carry some of the load in this game, but that’s not likely to last too long. Oh, btw Pewter Report, please fix your Fusion Slider Revolution to allow right click to Open in New Tab. I imagine he will tough it out like Godwin did. If not, we have capable backups and a weak secondary on the other side of the ball.

Funny how everyone is concerned about losing RoJo for a game when just a few months ago he was being called a “wasted Draft pick” and a “bust” by some of the more impatient fans who are so quick to judge rookies. Same with Vita Vea, who was called “fat and out of shape” and also a “bust” by some who preferred some guy on IR with the Chargers. Now, his loss is most likely the reason for the defense’s decline. The lesson here is that not all rookies shine immediately and some who do often fade into obscurity. If… Read more »
