When Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin was scheduled to be on Sirius XM Radio on Thursday night, I’m sure he didn’t expect to be answering such pressing questions about the future of his team’s offense. But, with the news of his quarterback Jameis Winston preparing to be suspended breaking just hours prior, those were the first questions he was asked.
But, Godwin handle it like a pro, as you would expect, reminding everyone that they have 53 (90, right now) players on the roster for a reason.
“On our team, we have a next-man-up mentality,” Godwin said. “We have a ton of faith in Fitz and Ryan Griffin and all of our quarterbacks that, whoever is in there, they’re going to be able to go in and utilize our playmakers and really get the ball moving.
“Obviously, you don’t wish that on anybody, but we’re looking forward to the opportunity that we have ahead, of building through training camp and putting a great product on the field.”
Perhaps not all gloom and doom?
