In Pewter Report’s latest edition of SR’s Fab 5, Scott Reynolds went through Tampa Bay’s veteran options this coming offseason at the quarterback position, should the Bucs make the decision to move on from Jameis Winston, the team’s first overall draft pick in 2015. One of the options SR included was the Bengals’ Andy Dalton who is primed for an off-season trade after being benched in favor of rookie Ryan Finley.

Jason La Confora of CBSSports agrees that the Bucs might be a fit for the veteran quarterback.

Dalton will have one season left on his current contract, due to be paid an affordable $17 million in 2020. With Bruce Arians entering his tenure with the Bucs in win-now mode, he likely isn’t looking to groom and prepare a rookie quarterback and, according to La Conforta, Arians was a fan of Dalton throughout his draft process.

  2. Super! Great! Superb!
Can’t wait to see how that poor guy will do behind our leaking sieve of an offensive line that makes bonehead mistakes with an inconsistent running game.
When are all you morons going to realize it’s not the QB, it’s the cast of idiots around him.
I’ve never been a Winston fanatic but I can tell what is the cause of most of the problems on this team.
One of the biggest causes has been Licht’s poor drafting.
He knew Dotson was getting old and would need to be replace a couple of years ago.
The guy he choose to replace him Caleb Benonoch, in the fifth round, isn’t even in the NFL any more I don’t think.
So we have a hobbled RT starting who is laying it out on the line every week while Licht collects his million dollar contract week after week in the luxurious owners box.
    Sheer lunacy.
I bet Winston can’t wait to get out of this insane asylum.

    • Finally someone who sees the real problem yes jameis is a bonehead sometimes but his supporting cast does not help him this o line has been terrible every year since he’s been drafted the run game has been inconsistent once this o line gets revamped and we get a true bell cow at running back you will see the talent jameis Winston has always had and plus this defense does not help him at all either allowing 300 passing yards per game and allows 30 plus points every game

  5. The problem isn’t what Jameis does under pressure it’s the decisions he makes when he actually has time! I’ll say it again… a QB doesn’t throw for 300 yards in an NFL game if his offensive line sucks… I’m just saying…

  8. The best case scenario possible is if Arians can talk Andrew Luck out of retirement.

I think Mark Cook mentioned it in a previous article.

But having Dalton as the Bucs starter is not a smart move.
