Good.
Licht woke up from his slumber. Now that the Bucs have a legit LB room with Anzalone, Rozeeboom. Dennis and Nick Jackson bring the rear. So far the signings on defense have been 100% on point.
Still need to draft a MLB for long term and depth.
Need to trade up for an edge or pray one falls

Yeah but the Bucs don't need to burn a 1st rounder on an ILB now.
Bucs can definitely nab an edge rusher in round 1 now.
Or trade back :-)
Licht needs to keep the signings coming with free agents at CB, WR and edge rusher. Then the Bucs can do what they want with the draft.
The problem is the Bucs FO is too satisfied with the current roster which is the problem.

last couple paragraphs. Uncertainty over Bowles
Rozeboom had 1/10 of the Panther’s tackles last season. That’s insane. He’s a welcomed addition to the LB room. Nice work.
The Bucs were "Super Bowl" contenders last season and Bucs fans are genuinely happy to get two mid LBers this offseason. And they should be. But man what a hilarious disconnect.
last season the Bucs got zero from Kancey and almost zero from Reddick, Hall and even Vea.
They got almost nothing from LVD and SVD.
They got mixed play from their supposed best up and comer Smith and their big contract CB gave up 5TDs.
and as bad as the defense was down the stretch the offense was maybe more pathetic.
It is not happiness. The Bucs are making moves that make sense finally (on defense) but they still have a long way to go. Bringing back D. Jones last off season as competition while okay we all knew he had no shot of starting. Walker had a greater chance of starting but again he was just replacing the displaced Britt and not really changing the dynamic of this team. Many of us called it a side grade and we were not wrong about that.
Reddick actually was more competent than JTS as an edge rusher, but still fell short but it allowed Diaby to do more. Kancey going down means the team was too stuck on trying to be smaller and decided to get bigger mid season but it was too late.
Anzalone and Bozeman still have more in the tank than D. Jones or Walker so this is why these LB signings do more for this team than Jones/Walker did last year. Muhammad can still provide what Reddick brought due to veteran experience.
But it still isn't enough.
Licht has to push for another veteran edge rusher to help Muhammad out along with Diaby and to allow Walker to come along slowly from his injury. If Walker is your 4th or 5th off the bench that is 100% okay with me. And if the Bucs do draft an edge they do not need to expect the rookie to do a lot of heavy lifting as it should be.
Agree completely. The Bucs were "Super Bowl" contenders last season and Bucs fans are genuinely happy to get two mid LBers this offseason. And they should be. But man what a hilarious disconnect.

To me, this team had so many holes to fill at the start of this offseason, they were going to be doomed to begin with. It is a reality that this team needs/could use 2 Edge guys of high caliber, 2 LBs of any variety of good/high caliber, 2 DBs (primarily at corner) of average/good caliber. That is 6 guys "needed" without even mentioning DT, O-Line, and RB (before FA began). That is a ton of holes to fill and this team just didn't do enough in my opinion to really address those holes. I really like some of the FAs they have signed but I really think it was too much to overcome in one offseason which is why I am certain it will be a rough year in Tampa with Bowles (and possibly Licht) gone after next season.
Bucs LVD intends to retire. Time to draft a ILB to learn the ropes.
But the Bucs still need a CB, WR and another edge rusher.
Falcons are signing RB Brian Robinson. 1 year $2.5 MM deal. A great bargain for the Falcons due to missing draft picks and limited cap space.
Saints sign QB Zach Wilson to a 1 year deal.
Bengals plan to re-sign Joe Flacco.
The Bucs are making moves that make sense finally (on defense) but they still have a long way to go.
Maybe not? Josh Q taking as victory lap on his cap analysis.

Proud of this. Back in DECEMBER I estimated the Bucs would have $50M to spend in cash for FA this year. That was based on a project. of $305M cap. Actual cap was $301.2M so my cash proj. drops to $46.2M. How close was I? Off by $1.5M. Just enough for them to grab a cheap vet DB.
Eagles sign JTS to a 1 year deal.
It is reported that AJ Epenesa failed his physical and Browns deal is off the table for now.
Raiders sign Kirk Cousins. 1 year $20 mm contract.
Bucs waived Jaden Smith.
LB Anthony Walker announces retirement.
Stephen Gilmore announces retirement.
Bengals sign S Kyle Dugger and CB Ja'Sir Taylor both value bargains for secondary help.
Chiefs sign former 1st rounder CB Kaiir Elam to a one year deal to bolster their depth with the departure of Jaylen Warren and trading away Trent McDuffie.
