They seem to be pulling out all the stops.

I’m going with the idea that Bowles retires at the end of the year, regardless of outcome. I think if Zac Robinson has a good season, he may be the top new HC candidate.

Hey, if Bowles miraculously turns the defense around, great. Hoping he goes out on a successful season.

so I think that cash argument is overblown lately by PR staff and others.

It's not overblown when it's factual.

Whether or not you agree with the process is irrelevant.

It is overblown because it gives Licht an out when all other GMs have had to navigate this which is just weasel words that PR staff is using lately and I am not buying it.  Not giving Licht an out if he keeps handing contracts out like the one he gave to McCollum over and over again.

Well, which one is it?

In the first instance you were saying the cash budget is not real.  Now you seem to be saying it is real but Licht has mismanaged it? If he mismanaged the cash budget then the cash budget is real.

It can be both.  Bucs are prepared to extend Mayfield this year or next if they can agree.  They were prepared to given Evans over market value and that is with Otton in the fold.  PR staff framed it like it was an Otton or Evans choice but the Bucs FO was sorry PR but we wanted BOTH back.

Also the tough decision of "Vea" or Diaby next year is another one because if the Buca are motivated they will want to have both back. If it means they do not sign a single outside free agent or let the Bredesons of the world walk (LOL) then so be it.

McCollum was prematurely extended and that is universally agreed upon.  When the Bucs make a decision with Mayfield, Diaby and Vea it will not be a situation where they were prematurely extended and mismanaged the cap.

if you say "it can be both" you are acknowledging there is a cash budget because there has to be something for Licht to mess up lol

And sure, any team can do whatever if the owners are motivated. I think the Bucs went over the cash budget for Brady but that was sort a unique circumstance because he was the GOAT QB . .. and it makes the pint anyway because the Bucs have bene adhering to a cash budget since. That is and was the point.  Licht is operating within the constraint provided by the owners.

I never saw PR frame it as "Otton or Evans" where did that come from?
