Bucs drafting in top 10 with a new offensive minded coach, it’s 100% on the table. Clearly not if Bucs extend mayfield before the season but if they don’t extend him, it certainly is
and if baker throws 30+ TDs, 12ish INTs the defense would have had to really suck for the Bucs to not have a winning record (which again is possible) but in that scenario I’m sure a new head coach would be inclined to keep him.

I mean, unless you can give an example of a CB who was available at the same pick who could contribute this year, I think this is just a stupid argument. I trust Licht’s evaluations and I’m pretty pumped about Capehart’s upside.

I've watched every game of Bartons career at center and he is not good whatsoever. He is constantly getting blown into the backfield and hasn't blocked well. The only thing going for Barton is he is young and could develope if he puts in the work. Bredeson actually has played very well for us. One, however who has not played well for us is Barton. He is a terrible center and that project needs nixed. Bredeson should start at center and try Barton at guard and if that fails, put him at tackle.
Regarding the thread subject matter. I would generally agree that late round picks are better used on guys that can contribute on Special Teams. But there are exceptions to every rule. This dude does have a pretty noticeable size/athleticism combo. At almost 6'5, 313 lbs, he had the third best athleticism score at the combine among DT's. The team is banking on being able to coach-up his athleticism and get him to play with better technique and pad level.
He may be worth a late round flier to see if he becomes anything. Then again - like all late rounders - he may not. Bitching about 5th round selections is kinda foolish, one way or the other.

I want to see what he does this year. It's possible he just had a bad year... Same can be said of Barton. Both young enough to require us to be patient
