"Evans’s agent Deryk Gilmore told multiple reporters that Evans plans to play in 2026. Evans is set to become a free agent in March and Gilmore said that he plans to explore all options for where he will play."
Translated. He’ll be back playing in Tampa for at least one more season.
There are multiple contenders they are likely evaluating. Bills? Patriots? Broncos? Jaguars? 49ers?
I personally believe he will leave, and for one of these five teams.

flash back:
Evans' wife, Ashli, convinced him to stay in Tampa and finish his career with the Buccaneers, where he recently signed a two-year, $41 million deal to avoid free agency.
“I don’t want to say I was waiting for my wife to speak up, but she just planted it,’' Evans said Friday, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
“These things are just like day and night. You have to think about it. We were thinking, and it just hit her and she said, ‘Maybe we should stay in Tampa, babe.’
"I mean, I wanted to be in Tampa, and they offered me great money. It wasn’t about the money. I just wanted to see everything as a whole, and if we were going to get Baker [Mayfield] back and things like that. But I know I can play with whoever is at quarterback. Obviously, I hope it’s Baker.’'
I’m looking at this more of agent talk than anything.
glad Derrick brooks retired a buc.
was painful to watch Sapp and lynch play elsewhere ngl.

Even though I wouldn't blame him to leave. I think it would be a mistake by the organization. Another season for egbuka to be with Evans and Godwin is more valuable than people think. Also loyalty to the organization would slot him among the best. Rival maybe only Derrick brooks and Barber to play for one team.

Man was that gut wrenching.
M1K3 can release that balled up frustration in two ways. One, he can't bring himself to play for the current HC/DC of the Bucs and takes his talents elsewhere. Or two, he stays with the Bucs as a team leader and plays for a team that's very likely not contending for any kind of title in 2026. I honestly want him to stay, but either scenario is possible.

One of the many interesting side stories
1. If he's seen across the league as STILL being as dominant as the RB believes, then he will be flooded with offers, including from real contenders.
2. If Bowles is as hopeless as the RB seems to think then theres no way Evans comes back here, as competitive as he is ("3rd and 28!").
3. BUT there are external facts that the RB often discounts, like legacy and family (the quote from last year).
4. AND . . the RB seems to agree (?) that there is a limit to his contract value, so money is another reason he could leave (see #1)
That quote from last year implies HE was considering other teams, so I guess we will see what happens this year.
i dont understand this notion that Mike Evans will leave to want to win a Super Bowl
i mean, he's already got one...so what looks better
Playing 15 years call it....with the same franchise
or
playing 12 years with one, then a 1 year deal with another team, then oh shoot, let's go to this team, not even sniffing 1,000 yards; i.e. the Hopkins route
Evans will only move to a different team if it's best for his family. Think he's got 3 kids - 3,6, and 9. All young enough for him to move to where they want to be long term.
but if Tampa is that town, then yeah...not hard to imagine Licht getting a deal done. Now...if the Bucs outsmart themselves and say..."hey we got a guy that went ghost second half of his rookie year, another guy who can't stay healthy, and a third guy who can't stay healthy....yeah we dont need Mike Evans!"....then we are in trouble
I wouldn't read too much in to this. Agent speak to try and get as much $ as possible from the Bucs.

Evans is the best Buc of all-time imo. I just cant see him moving. It’s tougher for an older wr to move on and succeed than it is for other positions. In fact, show me a WR post 31, who has left a team and had any real success. I’m sure it’s happened but I can’t think of one example.
It looks like Jerry Rice and Steve Smith Sr are the only two WR to move to other teams and have 1000+ yards receiving seasons.
The others who did it, were on the team that drafted them.

Terrell Owens 3x

Cris Carter 4x
Anquan Boldin 2x

Tough to leave a team late in your career and have any real success.
