Yep. That pulling guard version of the previous two runs was a thing of beauty. Coen always seemed to be 2-3 moves ahead of the defense at times. I will reserve criticism for what he does until I see it fail on a regular basis.Coens run game while here was from another dimension. You'd see the Bucs run the same play, same formation twice and then the third time they ran it the LB who had seen the play twice would run to fill the hole only to get leveled by a pulling G who wasn't there the first two times.
next level amazing.
maybe that is why he's drafting TEs a couple rounds early. Who knows? There is a fine line between genius and mad man

Only fair. Hard to quickly discredit someone in that kind of role for doing what they believe. Let it play out.

“I liked what Tampa Bay did. I thought Tampa Bay did a nice job of letting the draft come to them. You can’t say that for everyone,” Zierlein said.
“This is why I think the Buccaneers’ draft, where they said, 'Ok Rueben Bain will fall to us at 15, that’s a huge need we have, we’ll go with Rueben Bain.’ Josiah Trotter, who is expected to go in the second round, you know, solid, fits a need,” Zierlein stated. “Ted Hurst, in the third round, he was expected to be a late second to early third pick, they pick him up later, really good pick there. Keionte Scott in the fourth round, really solid player.”
Zierlein then summed up his thoughts on the Bucs’ draft by praising GM Jason Licht and what he accomplished in this year’s draft.
“These are good football players, and I think, good positional and draft value. DeMonte Capehart, I liked him as a fourth, fifth, he went in the fifth," Zierlein said. "I think Jason Licht did a really good job picking up good football players.”
I agree, and that also leveraged the pass game to another level.
I’m giving some space on Trotter, as well. Watched SR’s rethink of Trotter as well, comparing Rodriquez 2nd season to Trotter’s 2nd, shows that Trotter had started to show some pretty good understanding later in the year. That was well ahead of where Rodriquez was at the same point in development.
Will it pan out? Don’t know, but we’ll see. The downhill stuff/thumper that Trotter is excellent at, can be used on a rotational effort this season. Maybe he’s at point that he’s also ready for some progression?

I don't disagree with any of this but it again comes down to one in the hand or two in the bush.
Yes, but I also would not have wanted to miss on Ted Hurst, though. We need the X component, he’ll give us some needed targets.I’m giving some space on Trotter, as well. Wasn't happy with where we took Trotter on draft night, but he’s here now and Im coming to grips with the draft in the whole.
…and of course, Bain makes it all ok.
Now we really just need some more depth at corner & ILb.

I really feel like getting Bain is a trump card for the draft to help us all cope with 2 reaches.
I'm not buying the Hurst hype at all... But I see the appeal with his metrics and some flashes on tape against poor competition.
I'm generally hopeful on both but if we took Pregnon and Allen we'd have more of a guarantee, better value, and more immediate impact.
So many bad teams draft for potential over production/success.
Arvell Reese is a great example... Amazing metrics but his tape is pretty meh on a stacked defense.
If I'm the giants I'd want draft players for impact, not potential to sit behind an absolutely stacked depth chart at edge.
But I digress. I agree Bain makes me feel more comfortable with the 2 picks and I hope they work out.
I have no illusions about Hurst replacing M1K3, just really looking for redzone targets, and some scheme specific type role for him. Not buying any hype, but the kid has some talent, good production at a lesser quality division, but did turn in good senior bowl.
We can see if he can be a big X type receiver - if he’s going to do that - he’s going to need to add some bulk/mass to do that at this level.
If he can give Baker some RZ options, I’ll think he rang the bell this season.

"No general manager is going to bat a thousand, right?” Sikkema said. “What you really want is, you want the general managers whose process that you trust. The process is going to fail; it is the talent acquisition game. The draft, free agency, the trade [market], the pro personnel market, there are going to be bets that you could go about the process exactly the right way, and it just doesn’t work out for you for whatever reason.
“All that to say, I think Jason’s process and how he approaches team building is sustainable, smart, and it’s just something that a lot of other general managers around in the NFL do not have that kind of head on their shoulders. I am still very much a Jason Licht fan. I think that he is the right man for the job building this team, and I think he put that on display again with a master class of a draft for them this year.”
"Then I think going back to free agency when, you know, the Raiders-Ravens trade didn’t work out, I think that in some way I’d like to think helped us a little bit. I was a little afraid if the Raiders made that trade, Spytek, he and I are very close, he was taunting me a little bit, hey, we’re sitting right in front of you, I know what you need,” Licht said “And then, you know, Crosby goes back to the Raiders, then the Ravens are sitting there again with their pick, and I know they love their edge rushers, too, so that had me nervous. They took Vega, which is an awesome pick, you know, they need offensive linemen. Maybe the fact that the Raiders signed Lindbaum helped us get Rueben. We’re all trying to help each other out here, especially the people that are good friends, so thanks, Spytek.”
Licht said the Bucs were in on Hendrickson “a little bit” before he agreed to terms with Baltimore, but the way everything came together left them with a “shiny new toy” at the top of the draft.
