And before you say your usual "there's no guarantee someone would have traded their pick", there were 14 second round picks traded in the 2021 draft. Licht's 2021 draft board was a complete clusterfuck. Not only did he not secure Humphrey, he took Hainsey over Meinerz and let ARSB go 17 picks ahead of Darden in the 4th round. But this is no surpise after Spyek spilt the beans that Licht was going to select Carlos Henderson over Godwin.

Speculating on trades that didn’t happen is Maddenish. They should have selected Humphrey with their first pick. That is the correct and accurate criticism.
Pick 26, that's a late first round. I have no problems drafting a quality player on the OL that late. Barton is an excellent athlete and a good football player who can literally play every position if needed. Guy did a tremendous job playing LT even though he looked awkward and out of position. Then we asked him to play inside and he looked very rusty.
He was brilliant his rookie year and had a weird sophomore year. He is far from a concern at this point, at least he doesn't miss games and offers versatility.

He's an inside OL... But that's where he has struggled the most and he certainly isn't a natural snapping the ball.

You and the Red Board GM had your opportunities to give his losing plays over the last four or five games of the season. Neither of you were able to step up to the plate. He played very well, despite the two shitbirds playing beside him. I'm still game. Give me the Game, Quarter, and Timestamp.

Brilliant might be a stretch. But, I'd say he was good for a rookie. Wirfs was brilliant his rookie year, and it'd be unfair to say Barton was on that level. Still a good player that is still learning the position and made a few mistakes. He has some small nuances to clean up in pass protection but other then that we are looking at a long-term starter here pro bowl talent.He was brilliant his rookie year and had a weird sophomore year.
