love your optimism but you live in an alternate reality
top 5? So a guy with a broken neck (McMillian), a broken everything else (Godwin), and Michael Clayton 2.0 (Egbuka) are top 5!
obviously i'm being facetious but the Bucs WR core is pure "potential". Can Godwin return to 2024 form or will he look like hes running in mud again in 2026? Can McMillian stay healthy? He has missed time in each of his first 2 years. Can Egbuka be the guy he was the first half of the year? It wasn't due to lack of targets for the decline in production so what was it?
The original comment of upper half of league was the correct statement. You suggesting top 5 is only setting yourself up for disappointment. I could see us struggling in the redzone this year. Who is the new 6'5 just toss it up to him guy?
This team needs some help at WR. It could find it with second-year guys, but given the injury history, we need depth too. Adding a 3rd or 4th round WR makes sense.
and just for you knowledge, i can name at least 10 teams with better WR core than the 2026 Bucs
1. Rams - Puka, Adams, Mumpfield.
2. Cowboys - Lamb, Pickens, Flournoy
3. Bengals - Chase, Higgins, Iosivas
4. Lions - St. Brown, Williams, TeSlaa
5. Eagles - AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Hollywood Brown. (If and when AJ is traded, yes, they will fall out of top 10)
6. Seahawks - JSN, Cupp, Shaheed
7. Broncos - Waddle, Sutton, Franklin
8. Texans - Collins, Dell, Higgins
9. Jaguars - Washington, Meyers, Thomas Jr
10. 49ers - Mike Evans, Pearsall, Kirk
IF......Godwin returns to form and can stay healthy, if McMillian can progress and stay healthy, and if Edbuka can be the guy he was the first half of the year, i can meet you halfway that we'd be a top 10 group....but you suggesting they are top 5 as we sit here in April 2026 is just not giving an honest, realistic assessment of this team.

This is terrible. You should hand in your football fan card and go watch golf.

Cool story, Private Premier League.
Name the teams from that list where our WR room is superior.
Every fan is going to look at potential so they may overvalue their players, but you're kind of doing the opposite in that you're taking a pretty negative view.
For example, can McMillan stay healthy? Okay, he got dumped on his neck. Not really on him, but when we was healthy (2024) and playing part time early he scored 8 TDs in 13 games and had 500 yards, so hes maybe a 8-10 TDs and 900 yards guy on a full, healthy season?
Egbuka hit the fairly typical wall, but if he does not in 2026 he's what 1500 yards and 12 TDs? That's almost JSN territory so bring it down a couple notches and say 1200 YDS and 9-10 TDs?
In 2024 Godwin has 6 TDs and around 600 yds in 7 games, so he was on pace for something like 1300-1500 and 10 TDs. In 2025 hes 360 yard and 2 TDs in 8 games, so maybe hes 700 yards and 4-5 TDs in a full season in 2025
So, if you just pick the middle ground on this guys
Egbuka maybe is 1200 yds and 9-10 TDs? That is basically replacing 2024 Evans. His ceiling may be higher than that.
Godwin 800 yards and 5 TDs. He probably does better than that
McMillan 900 Yds 9 TDs?
That kind of WR output would be better than the Seahawks WRs? Better than the Patriots?
Anyway, who knows, other than to say its probably somewhere in between Knees and you?
Name the teams from that list where our WR room is superior.
Rams, Cowboys, and Eagles are the only ones that are better. Period.
This isn’t even a debate as the stats show this.

I think we are a top 15 core heading into the season. Thats what original poster said and knees came in with somehow we are better than bengals and Seahawks WR core comment in top 5. Which one of is closer to reality?
I think if our WRs play to their potential we can easily be top 10 but will be hard for this group to sniff top 5 when currently we don’t even have a #1 (view aj brown, Puka, JSN, Chase) type caliber

You aren't being negative. You're being pretty realistic. It's not a top-10 room any longer.
Hilarious to watch the loon act as if it isn't a leghumper.
we don’t even have a #1
Nancy boy Biggs will have to bookmark this. All Tampa needs is a healthy running game. Gainwell is a great addition but he’s a lot like Bucky (he had 1.5 yards more per carry than Bucky last season) but he’s similar in style. We need a bell cow who can stay healthy.
The casual fan will have the logos in front of the substance. McMillan for example catches everything thrown to him. No one knows who he is. Lolz at we don’t have a #1. There’s a huge difference between not having an X and not having a true #1.
There’s a huge difference between not having an X and not having a true #1.
That's true. Every team in the league has an X WR, but not every team has a true #1 WR. You've accurately described where Tampa fits in among the rest of the NFL, with a little self-pwnage.

Egbuka is a true #1 and he’s not an X in the stereotypical definition of that spot.

Such a clown shoes take.
I’ll just use the Bengals as an example.
What “stats” shows that our receiver room is better?
When I want excellent analysis on Wide Receivers and their skill sets, this is my go-to guy:
I’ll put money on McMillan being the receiver with the most yards this year.
Name the bet. He finishes in the top 2 in receptions this year. Debate your mom...
Starting to think Egbuka is a good bet for rookie of the year. I haven't heard this much hype out of a rookie receiver since Moss.
Stoked!!!
Egbuka should have been drafted in the top 5. There is a Moss like certainty to him. If Carolina could do their draft over, they would draft Egbuka over Tet.
For those that are as clueless as this poster, Tetairoa McMillan won Offensive ROY with 445 points & 41 first-place votes. EE was fifth was 66 points & 0 first-place votes
