The reason why knees THINKS the market is down is because most of it is in a bear market. Prior to the ai push, it was (under Biden too) very Mag7 driven.
The overall market growth isn't broad. Trump's politics have made the stock market worse buts it's being masked be ai growth (which is tech companies paying other tech companies).
So either the other 80% of the S&P rebounds under high interest rates, tariffs, and war aboard or we see a recession or worse.
Because the ai growth isn't "real" or sustainable unless AI starts giving massive return on the investment.

I work in finance and I'm still invested in AI companies with a short term time horizon and I'm holding a ton of cash. There's still room to grow (fake growth).
But historically midterms are a blood bath AND it will yet again be Democrats cleaning up a Republican mess after a war in the middle east, unfettered tax cuts for the rich, and record high inflation with low job growth.
I give it a 70% chance of a major recession on 2027 that can only be offset if ai returns become real and insiders don't liquidate their massive profits.

This thread has come a long way from Trump going to a Bucs game. All I will say to some of you is keep voting for people like Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. I voted for Trump 3x because I couldn't vote for the POS candidates the POS Democrat Party put up against Trump. I think this should paint a pic for some people about how bad the candidates are. Literally none of them have been impressive including trump. Trump first became popular because of that because there is a swamp and he said he would get rid of it but he didn't it's still alive and well. In fact it's definitely deeper than ever and more than likely extends to trump because he didn't do anything about it. Our government is corrupt. I'm not sure how the trust is there for some people. It's literally been team blue and team red because the candidates are so bad. Leading to people just being loyal to their color. When we need to demand better out of both. Part of that is because so much money goes into the media over this and trashing the other. A lot of money into it. Everyone in here pretty much agrees about that but get lost in the team blue and red thing still. We need to look past that and realize none of these jerks are for Americans. I don't think anything will change until people realize this.Â

it's what they don't get. Hillary, the murder and main character from House of Cards, was their best candidate of the three and they are getting weaker and weaker. Now i am hearing AOC. It's like they are quadrupling down on it.

Â That should be obvious regardless of who you support because "Trumpism" is/was the INTENTIONAL destruction of the existing system of government. Many Trump voters voted for that destruction.
The entire foundation of the country before Trump- literally the PURPOSE behind its CONSTITUTIONAL system -Â is/was to have STABILITY by vesting power in Congress where nothing could get done but through COMPROMISE. By definition, a CENTRIST SYSTEM. Slow moving, plodding maybe, but undeniably CENTRIST. Imperfect for sure, but the point is that under that system ONLY things that the vast majority wanted could become law because Congress passes laws. SMALL GOVERNMENT imprint, by definition. That is/was the system for 200 plus years before Trump.Â
But that system was very frustrating for many Trump supporters because they could never get many of their issues through. An easy example would be immigration. Loss of manufacturing jobs, another.Â
In their view these things were not the result democracy or inevitable change, but rather CHOICES made by the system that, in their view, worked AGAINST them and their core beliefs whether those beliefs were economic ("Mexicans taking my job") or cultural ("too much abortion" or "more Christianity" or "no gay marriage"). So TRUMP voters voted FOR intentionally breaking that system to vest almost all power in ONE person (eg Trump tariffs only happen by edict, not by vote of even a GOP-controlled Congress) who they believed would "fix" all the things they hated about the country so they could finally have the type of country they wanted: the US of the PAST (make America great AGAIN) instead of the US where they were losing jobs and status and power.
So, the axe-wielding madman chopping down all the Constitutional trees was handed the axe INTENTIONALLY. Today, some think the view is improved without all the trees. History will be the judge of that, but the trees are gone. There is no denying that.
