Interesting.
what’s the move here?
Let it play out then let him walk
Trade him now so at least the Bucs get something in return (draft choices) which also frees up cap space to sign Mayfield.
Interesting.
what’s the move here?
depends on how he did in the last 11 games
so you're letting him potentially sit out, and then walk in March 2027 :)
He's gonna sit out the season?
Lol ok
i doubt it. i guess worst case would be he decides to miss a certain amount of games
but then again, he is still showing up currently so his form of protest isn't really threatening at this time.
i dont think it's on table at this time but if it was....what do you do?
Interesting, so now we’re actuallbin the phase of which of Licht’s Children will he love the least?
Vita Vea is at a cross roads of his career but Licht does one thing right and that is offer more than fair market deals for long time Bucs.
I'd be all for paying Vita if he would just come into then season in better shape.
He's not worth what he wants because he's not playing 75%+ of the snaps. He literally has to be on a snap count...
So... Hard to want to pay him. And I love Vita and have always loved that pick by Licht. He's a gamer... But he's still lazy at times.

Perception-wise the Bucs navigated Evans and LVD in that both departures were player choice with the Bucs standing by to take them back, at least optically.
Vea is one of the next challenges. I am a huge Vea fan but how much and how long for a player in his role at that age?

and diminished production.
Vea's production looks good and he did increase his snap count. So to me I think that he has a lot more in the tank than most want to admit. I just think it comes down to what Vea really wants to do because Licht has been generous to offer fair market value for long time Bucs players before they depart.
Vea wants to get paid, Vea needs to get played
