if it took them this long to get rid of Bowles...

I get that this is an unpopular thought at this moment BUT in the long run (key point: long run) a team like the Bucs is probably better off with owners who are not hyper-reactive with head coach hires.

That was the signature of the "lost decade."

not to make another thread about Bowles....but should have never been the head coach to begin with

When Brady fired Arians back in March 2022, our hands were tied and Bowles was the interim guy right.  We proceeded to have one of the most disappointing seasons in the franchise history (when factoring in expectations) in Brady's only losing year as a Pro.

They should have moved on from him there but ok give him a chance.  Then based on merit, Bowles "over achieved" in 2023 and 2024 but still very mid teams with 9, 10 wins.

then in 2025, falling flat on his face, after 6-2 start, the team finished 2-7.  He should have been fired then, no?  Can we agree on that?  You seemed to agree back in January.

yes i agree and posted as much.  They should've move on at the end of last season

I dont understand your posts though because you're on here suggesting they did not because of race and yet you are laying out the exact NON-race reason he at least made it to 2025, right?

If you agree then the only question is how did he survive 2025 and that is pretty easy to answer with non-race as well and that is that Bowles has a LOT of football believers in the football world and many of them are very influential

https://www.joebucsfan.com/2026/07/did-bill-parcells-call-team-glazer-to-lobby-for-todd-bowles/

This is inn the article b ut alos pretty widely reported:

1. "Arians believes in his coaching tree and did not want to see Bowles get launched after one bad season — one that was filled with serious and significant injuries."

2. Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht already has spoken publicly about retaining Bowles. He says he was all for it.

3. Parcells recently shared that he has weekly in-season chats with Todd Bowles, who coached for Parcells with multiple teams. So last week, Joe asked Ira Kaufman, the legendary NFL writer and columnist, if he thinks Parcells lobbied directly to Team Glazer on behalf of Bowles. Kaufman responded with a resounding, “Yes” and didn’t waffle when asked again about it days later. (Kaufman talked directly to Parcells for a story about Bowles last summer.

as I have pointed put you can add guys like Quarles and Barber to that list, but the Glazers TWICE tried to hand football operations over to Parcells so . . .

So, how you get to race from that is beyond me? Occam's Razor (credit to Fire)
