Despite what some have interpreted Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston’s statement from earlier on Thursday to say, admitting guilt isn’t the case, at least according to one national reporter.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero on the NFL Network talked about Winston’s statement and what he has learned according to his sources.
#Bucs QB Jameis Winston's apology was part of the negotiated settlement on his 3-game suspension, sources say. He does not admit guilt to the conduct the NFL says violated the policy. But he acknowledges he was drinking that night and doesn't remember everything. @TomPelissero pic.twitter.com/Z7lRtZgmtC

Pelissero also said Winston’s alcohol use the night in question could have clouded his memory. Later Pelissero said the Buccaneers have no plans to release their quarterback at this time.
PewterReport.com will continue to update the story as new details emerge.
Winston has made a fool of himself, the bucs and the fans of the team. As a long time season tkt holder i am hoping the bucs find another face of the team soon.
This is it, Jameis. Get your shit together… Plain and simple. I’ve been a big supporter of yours since the Bucs were working on securing that first pick in the draft. I’ve defended you at every true this this is your ninth life. Vast wealth and hopefully a chance to one day hoist a Lombardi Trophy; it all hangs in the balance. We’ve seen a lot of players in your position fumble away their future and end up dead or in jail. If you focus as hard on your shortcomings off the field as the ones on the field, you… Read more »
👍👍! What e said. Go Bucs!
Well said e “….. end up dead or in jail” JAMEIS ARE YOU LISTENING? Kicking alcohol was a good start. Keep making better decisions. Start by choosing better friends. Start by apologizing utterly to the woman you abused. Apologize completely without trying to deflect culpability in a future lawsuit. Apologize to this organization by not holding their feet to the fire during the next contract negotiation. Tell your agent you are no longer due a golden boy contract. Admit that you are now damaged goods and that you need to earn your money via incentives. While you are negotiating why… Read more »

That uber driver’s crotch must have smelled like crab legs from publix.
“C’mon man”
Upon further review, Winston actually just gave her the infamous “W” pregame speech in the car
Winston got drunk, made a pass at a girl and she objected so he stopped and didn’t go any further.
3 game suspension. Did I get that right.
Glad to see he has stopped drinking. The first thing you lose when you drink is your judgement.
That’s sexual assault that you’re just yadda yadda-ing
Gimme a break. He was drunk and sloppy and stupid.
The Uber driver isn’t suing. She isn’t pressing charges. She hasn’t changed her mind. She didn’t get a payoff.
Winston made a dumb mistake. He was a total jerk. He is paying a price that is fair considering his history.
Groping is sexual assault, BucWild. Not sure what kind of break you want to give. Just because the President condones grabbing women doesn’t mean it isn’t a crime anymore.
1) he didn’t grope he touched her “grazed” is the term she used- per her text. GRAZED! give me a break she said GRABBED but tweeted GRAZED to a friend – EMBLISHMENT
2) Female driver allows male ‘drunk’ in front seat – Entrapment
2) he backed off when she said so – PER HER
3) she was likely flirting with a FB player – and he went for it.
4) no proof, at all, she said he said
5) she sold the story to Buzzfeed – or someone else $$$
JW RAILROADED
There’s been a real rapey vibe around the PR comments the last couple days
Kate Gold digger also hired an attorney Clune on 11/19 2 days after selling the story to Buzzfeed.
Clune, demanded to the media that the NFL not only investigate Winston but also Darby about the truthfulness of their statements and denials.
It wasn’t about MONEY – Give me a break
Drunk NFL player, front seat, woman driver, GOLDDIGGER
I’m not sure about Arizona law but per Florida State Statute, what occurred is a misdemeanor battery, there is no “sexual assault” law in Florida only Sexual Battery. I would assume Arizona law is fairly similar.
In a court I don;t HE WOULD be convicted of even that.
Hence why she never pressed charges – if she pressed charges and LOST she’d have less power to extort money from JW.
This was ALL about money
You call grabbing for her crutch making a pass? Get a lot of dates that way Drd? If I’m the Bucs I’m making the suspension 4 games giving him one for the team, send a message. He’d be missing the Bears game then have the bye week to come back. Fitz deserves that game after having to play Phil, Pitt, N.O.. As others have said, last chance for romance with the fans Jameis.
Grazing her ‘crotch’ – which SHE TEXT her friend before she flipped to Grope ? really.
I feel bad for any male children you have. Make sure they don’t walk in a crowded bar or stadium and touch a woman somewhere by accident, you’d be throwing him under the bus too. This isn’t assault its minor and if not a celeb she’d have nada.
If a guy forced himself on a woman – of course that’s assault. This is not.
Some of these same fans wanting Jameis gone had no issue with Pittman. Guess it only matters when it is a QB doing heinous acts. Glad he kicked the alcohol, hopefully that was the issue. 1 more strike and your out Jameis. Better make it count.
Whataboutism is stupid, used only by stupid people.
People are all Saints today – didn’t you know? No guy ever makes an unwanted pass on a woman today EVER apparently.
The NFL investigation is the ONLY way this woman gets money – Kate’s attorney knew that, and Roger Goodell SOLD OUT another player to kiss up to #me2 – You are a Total disgrace Goodell
NFL wants this to take away anthem BS – that won;t last
Not to make light of this incident, but I’ll bet many, if not most, of the guys on this site have reached down there only to be swatted away and much sooner than the 3-5 seconds claimed. My wife said it should only be 2 seconds to initiate the rejection. Some probably even made second attempts. C’mon guys, be honest.
During my youth in the Camaro I don’t remember saying, “Pardon me miss, I’d like permission to touch your cooter or one of your boobs if it’s not too much trouble.”

Scubog about to get #metoo’d
I’ve been married to my wife going on 50 years and our money is joint so she already has everything. The rest of the girls are too old now to remember, but maybe wish they could.
You got it
BS … only an idiot could conclude that (1) Winston didn’t admit guilt and (2) Winston didn’t do what he denied doing until the NFL reviewed the evidence and testimony and concluded definutively, without any weasel words, that Winston assaulted the young woman in her car. Winston was given his second chance when the NFL allowed him to enter the draft and the Bucs drafted him with the no. 1 overall pick. Winston personally met with the commissioner prior to the draft who put him on notice that the league would not tolerate a repetition of his prior bad behavior.… Read more »
He never admitted guilt -and should not. He only agreed to this 3 game because heir Goodell could have enforced any suspension what so ever since he has no limit to his power thanks to Demarcus Smith’s CBA
No one values your opinion on here Naples. Be quiet.
Read the statement, not what you want to read. The apology is for the situation he put the Uber driver in, not anything he did. It’s a choice of wording that doesn’t actually admit to the accused wrongdoing and it was done so that Winston could look like he accepted his discounted suspension while still not leaving himself vulnerable to anything more. “Whataboutism” isn’t stupid when the core variables are the same. There should be some basic standards when discussing crime and punishment. Do you really think that Winston is deserving of a much more severe punishment because his not… Read more »
Look, the most important thing to the Glazer’s and the NFL is money. To make money you need to win. Winston is an above average quarterback (by a slim margin) and he gives the team the best chance to win. The apology was out of the Mark McGuire playbook (his legal teams, as well). I apologize…..so you did take performance enhancing drugs…..I said I apologize. By the way, Ronald Darby seems like the type of guy you want marrying your sister, no? What the Glazer’s need to do is put him back in the community for re-branding (try to give… Read more »
Scubog swatted away on a date maybe. Swatted away doing that to somebody that’s working for you at age 22 not 16? Hell no. If that’s not making light of situation not sure what is. He is a complete scum bag and a retard to boot. Woefully immature. Don’t see him changing but will see what happens. 3 strikes your out and short lease now. If he doesn’t play lights out when he comes back they should dump him. He’s had enough time and Bucs have added lot of talent. His actions hurt this team in a year where it… Read more »
Oh and anyone who thinks that wasn’t an admission of guilt by Winston is brain dead.
No its not, its an admission that Roger Goodell can suspend more so they took 3 games. If the NFL never investigated this would have never been any suspension since no criminal charges and no evidence exists
Typical white knight nonsense. They read what they want and nothing else.
Football is J Winston’s life. He got a 3 game suspension, lost 3 game checks, basically ruined his reputation as far as a lot of people feel. All by the choices he made (when he was 22 yrs old). If a 3rd strike happens J. Winston is probably out of the league, and probably rightfully so. He’s future is in his hands. He is paying a price for his decisions. And he should. He is getting one last chance (most likely) to live his dream. Since this happened over 2 years ago and he has had a stellar off field… Read more »
Cut the clown and move on with football for gods sake , we had had enough of the BS
I’m so ashamed of the fans who have hijacked an Uber driver’s report as a platform to virtue signal against sexual assault. It’s really disgusting how far the rabid mob will go to beat down the smallest offense now. Really think about this people. If the Bucs actually did release Winston, are we to presume that all it takes to get a guy fired, publicly humiliated and doors shut is simply the intra-company report of a woman who didn’t even press charges or have anything to say about it at all beyond a report to her employer? Remember, it’s not… Read more »
Hopefully, the Bucs will learn from their stupid mistake. We didn’t get stuck with Jamis, we choose him over Marotta. Both quarterbacks were rated about equal but the Bucs liked Jamis’s leadership. So they ignored all the red flags and chose him anyway. And this was right after we got rid of a bunch of players for bad behavior, that went on to become stars on other teams. It turned out to be a stupid gamble. Never ignore the red flags!
Disappointed! This is 2018, not 1975, or 1875…women’s rights have come a long way, their voice has come a long way, and like it or not men need to keep pace. Grabbing (or touching or breezing or whatever he did) a woman’s crotch may have passed 50 years ago as flirting, it doesn’t any more. Learn how to flirt with a woman if that’s what you want to do (it’s not rocket science)…learn how to get a woman to have sex with you because she wants to, not because you coerced her. Wake-up! If you can’t control yourself when drunk…don’t… Read more »
