Then you are not a real buc fan… choosing a sexual deviant that’s played 3 mediocre seasons over the Bucs means you weren’t a fan to begin with…. praying with all my might this is his last year in a uniform

Actually I’m a very real Bucs fan that’s intimately familiar with this teams history. If we get rid of Jameis over something, that when juxtaposed to the spectrum of what is considered truly egregious, is really rather trivial… It will come back to haunt us. Just as it did with Lagarrette Blount, Aqib Talib, Michael Bennet, Doug Williams, and Steve Young.

Making a very inappropriate sexual advance while drunk, and then immediately stopping upon being rejected, does not make someone a crazed/unhinged sex offender. Unless you’re an SJW cucktard.

Schwifty, I’m not surprised you would combine a personal attack of a poster, which I am fairly certain is not your first, along with a complete ignoring of the college history and rape accusation of Jameis Winston.

I would not be offended at all if you stopped supporting this team and I certainly won’t miss your politically driven ad hominem attacks of other posters.

The only one ignoring the history of his college accusation is you. Let me remind you. HE WAS EXONERATED NUMEROUS TIMES. Clear enough for you?

You also won’t have to worry about me going away, because just like me, Jameis isn’t going anywhere.

Lmfao quit defending Winston so hard, this isn’t his first time being in a familiar situation, sounds like Winston has problems and if you think what has just admitted to is ok then you need to stay away from women.

Never said it was ok. It’s very inappropriate to say the least. But I definitely don’t consider it to be worthy of cutting ties with Jameis. Who might I remind you has been the best QB the Bucs have ever had over these past 3 seasons.

Another +1 to Schwifty9. This campaign working Democrat is so tired of the rampant overreaction to what is ultimately a fairly trivial offense in the scheme of things.

I would not be offended at all if all the white knights would move to Tennessee. After all, I’ve been told how superior Mariota is and Titans fans were literally proclaimed the worst fans in the NFL :P

You’ve mentioned your political alignment a few times as some sort of exoneration of your opinion Justabuc. Which is a little weird, but ok.

I don’t pretend to know why you have the ideology you do but there are good and bad opinions and people of all political stripes. Let your argument stand on its own merits. And if your argument is to look at this as an isolated incident in a vacuum and ignore all past history, then I would say it’s a weak one.

To the people wondering why there was a delay in the formal statement after the reports of a suspension came out: The NFL, Jameis reps etc were very likely in a negotiation this past week plus in order to tidy up the suspension. The reason Jameis gets 3 and not more is in part his agreement: 1. To follow the plan outlined under the suspension 2. Not to appeal. 3. To issue a formal apology (essentially admitting guilt without directly saying it). They likely had the uber drivers reps come to a settlement about the case as well, since Jameis… Read more »

This is all just reinforcing what I said in some other thread here – a deal was struck based on appearances and not actual guilt. Everybody got a small piece of the pie instead of any one side getting to greedy and forcing the others to make the situation explode.

It’s an admission of guilt as much as a guy pointing a gun to your head is consent. Likewise, This entire “plan” in the suspension is something the NFL cooked up to make it look like they’re doing something about it.

Or maybe it possible he was drunk, read the situation wrong, made an unwelcomed and unwanted sexual advance, got denied, and stopped. Its not like that has ever happened to any guy before.

The Bucs won’t get rid of Jameis and I don’t want them to. Hopefully his next contract is cheaper because of this. I agree with JustaBuc and part of what Schwifty said. Obviously I don’t agree with touching unsuspecting people inappropriately. That is wrong and Jameis was wrong to do it. He gets suspended …ok. Sucks but I trust our revamped D and Fitz can make some magic happen. Bottomline is, if we as a society crucified every 22 year old who made an unwanted, drunken sexual advance… we wouldn’t have many left! He clearly stopped his advances after being… Read more »

Jameis obviously lied and misled people to believe that he didn’t do this back in November. He also talked his buddy Ronald Darby into trying to help him cover something up a second time. You don’t think he was guilty of rape in 2012 eithe?. The dude has obviously damaged at least two different women’s lives now and I wish the Bucs would move on from him immediately rather than trying to support someone who is so obviously a person that has taken advantage of multiple women.

He lied to the fans when he and Darby issued statements 8 months ago that the driver was “confused”. He either knew or could have learned from his buds that the only one lacking his faculties in that car was him. Using Jameis’ language: his “platform” is a God-given gift. We need not crucify every idiot 22 year old… but we should absolutely prosecute every sexual assault (although sounds like this oddly doesn’t meet AZ’s legal definition) and we should move those who by their own admission have come up short to a different, more modest platform with less opportunity… Read more »

Okay just because you can use words like discourse doesn’t make you smarter than everyone else because you’re obviously not that smart if you believe someone who has now committed sexual assault to some degree on multiple occasions should still be the face of the franchise and paid that way. Stop standing by someone who is messing up people’s lives just because he’s a good football player and won your beloved Seminoles a national championship.

And since when is discourse considered some kind of 5 dollar word that people use to show off? Also, just stop. Messing up peoples lives? Are you joking? How is a criminal when there are zero criminal charges surrounding this issue? According to Kate’s original statements, The only thing Jameis is guilty of is making an inappropriate sexual advance while drunk, and then immediately stopping when he was shut down.

I would hope that the Organization builds into Jameis’ second contract (If there is one), that he MUST attend long-term counseling sessions and needs to take any other recommended courses to be able to continue as the Buc’s QB in the future. I am, and have been a fan, of Jameis for a long time, but this is the the last chance in my book.

No more conjecture, no more doubt, no more speculation – as it should be! We have the official statement from the NFL, a terse statement from the Bucs and a mea culpa from Winston. I said earlier that I was deeply disappointed in Jameis and his own words have confirmed my suspicions. I also suspect that there are those who want to say the Bucs never should have drafted him and Marcus Mariota is a better QB. As you recall I didn’t feel that way then and I don’t feel that way now. If hindsight were 20/20, perhaps the Bucs… Read more »

Perhaps we shouldn’t have drafted him Macabee? We agree there were character concerns with Winston coming out right? This isn’t the first time there was significant questions about Jameis decionmaking and character. I seem to recall it was a pretty big topic of conversation before the draft in 2015 (And I supported him). But man, that “crack” investigative team of Licht’s really showed their worth haven’t they? The alleged incident occurred March 2016. The Bucs literally drafted Jameis first overall in late April 2015. Meaning less than ONE year went by without an incident. Oh, so do you count getting your friends to stick up for you and lie about what happened when someone accuses you of something growing up? Waiting for the NFL to complete a 9 month investigation proving you lied before you admit you don’t actually remember what happened…is that growing up too? Leaking that you don’t remember what happened, but even after taking your 3 games suspension, you say you don’t think you did that (how would you know if you were drunk enough not to remember), is that growing up too? Remember the entire reason this investigation happened in… Read more »

It appears Winston inappropriately touched a woman, he has been suspended for three games and has lost ground in his future contract negotiations. He has has been punished with a three game unpaid suspension. Let’s hope Jameis gets some help he may need. I think having a woman and future baby on the way he matures in a big way.

No it appears that a Golddigger entrapped or lied for money. That’s all we have. The NFL has no evidence and no proof. Heir Roger saying they believe XYZ means nothing when they can’t tell a ball deflates in cold weather, can’t make their own employees stand for an anthem, can’t stick to their own rules (Rice’s 2 game then 6). At this point, I have no faith in Winston’s judgment at all. When a team takes a chance on a guy that had his checkered past, you reward that team by walking a fine line. And by all means, you don’t engage in any behavior that could be construed as a sexual violation or assault. It’s just dumb by even the most fawning, Winston apologists (and that’s saying a lot judging from some of these comments). Winston got drunk, made a pass at a girl and she objected so he stopped and didn’t go any further. 3 game suspension. Did I get that right. Glad to see he has stopped drinking. The first thing you lose when you drink is your judgement. So tired of the rest of this nonsense. Winston isn’t going anywhere, especially if he comes out with more W’s than L’s this season.
