other than a backup Guard,

We already have a backup guard.

His name is Bredeson.

He's starting. We need his backup (or Mauch coming off major knee injury).

He’s ass.

We need to upgrade badly.

Licht signing him to that deal was idiotic.

He's below average, yes... But he's starting. Which is why I say we need to draft a guard. I think we can find his replacement in rounds 3 or 4.

2nd pick almost has to be a LB unless they all come off the board.

So is SirVocea.

Just like you mentioned with OG, you can find ILB’s in rounds 3 and 4.

Stick to the damn board.

What is everyone’s infatuation with drafting a late round TE? Call me crazy but I don’t think improving our #3 TE is going to make any difference in this team. Seems like a complete waste to me.

other than a backup Guard, we need all we can get for this defense.

What do you mean improving #3 TE? We need to improve #1 TE and don’t even have a #2 TE. Durham sucks

For the gurus on the Red Board, who is the best CB available? I'm hoping we get an ILB in the 2nd round, but I'm leaning to a CB in the 3rd round if there is one worth the pick...

Jermod McCoy. He would have been a top 15 pick, if not for him coming off of an injury.

Thanks, Biggs. I was looking at him, but was wondering about the injury.

Ideally we get a good player at linebacker at some point. Probably need some depth at Oline at some point. Cb. Take flyer on a wr or RB when appropriate. Whatever maybe is best between a lot of those positions there.

So,... after a bit of pondering.

I like the following players:

  • D'Angelo Ponds
  • Anthony Hill Jr.
  • Jake Golday
  • Chase Bisontis
  • Jacob Rodriguez

I think my favorite picks would be Golday or Bisontis if they are available.

I agree we need to improve our number 1 TE but the guy running the team thinks we’re good to roll with Otton and just resigned him. They also went with Durham and Culp all of last year and now we have Kieft coming back. I think our TE room sucks but Licht is set with these guys. We’re not carrying 5 either

Based on players currently available going into rd2 here's my board: (this mostly ignores need)

McCoy (likely long gone)

Howell

Bisontis

Boston

Hill

Allen

Rodriguez

Pregnon

Young

McDonald

Terrell

Stowers

Thomas (Ok)

Ponds (would love him in the third)

I'm not in love with any of the remaining wrs outside of Boston. I do like Burks in maybe the 4th

Licht’s mantra is always looking for guys who are “leaders.” I wish he would change that to guys who are healthy. Last year he drafted Morrison to take over for Dean, who was often injured, and what a surprise…..Morrison history of injury wasn’t a fluke.

I’m done with drafting injury prone players. Especially with high picks. Go gamble with a 5-7 pick, not top round.

But you are correct on McCoy. He’d be gone already if not for that injury.

For round two:

Jacob Rodriguez or Jake Golday or CJ Allen?

I think I would rank them in that order? What about you guys?

That is a tough one. I think CJ Allen is the most pro-ready. I think JRod has the highest ceiling. And I think Golday isn't far behind either. I would rank them Allen, JRod, Golday.
