Totally mismanaged opportunity.

As I said, there was a crossroad last offseason.

Stick with mediocrity, or move on to the future.

Glazers opted for the “safe” route. Now, you’re seeing the aftermath.

Sounds like Evans went to SF because he’s going to get 1 on 1s in space because of their commitment to the run game.

Should have used Sean Tucker more

Todd leghumpers in complete denial.

Considering your boy had such a heavy hand in the offense and game plan week to week; why did he not give Emmitt 2.0 more opportunities?

Before Bowles walked in the building the Bucs hadn’t made the playoffs in 12 years. Jason Licht’s record was 27-53.

Bowles is one of the constants in the second best run in franchise history but somehow everything is HIS fault.

He should have. It will likely end up being a reason why he loses his job. Just like the Thomas Jones decision was one of the reasons Gruden lost his.

Whether you to admit it or not, Bowles has been a constant in this great run we’ve had.

Yeah, constantly mediocre.

Whether you admit or not, choosing Bowles over Coen fucked this franchise for years to come.

Hell I could have coached special teams and it would have yielded the Bucs a win or two which would have punched their ticket into the playoffs.  But lets be honest Bowles didn't trust the ST coordinator but didn't fire him mid season, or promote Tandy who the organization respects to fix the mess on special teams. What does that say?

Bowles as a HC has to manage not only players but his coaches and other phases of the game.  A head coaching job is a management job and you must be active to manage your team week to week.  That is why old school managers and head coaches wore a suit and tie and some still do in other sports (NBA, soccer, NHL, etc)  If it was Belichick he would have taken over and coached special teams himself if needed and do anything to win and improve special teams.   A HC takes charge and fixes problems proactively like special teams faltering, a team slumped after a bye week and offense that lost creativity down the stretch which they had with lesser players at the start of the season, DBs play off coverage 20 yards off the LOS, not playing the sticks, etc.

Rams fired their special teams coach in season and their special teams were still a disaster in the playoffs. Why? Because they had bad special teams players. Bucs had bad special teams players. This is another Licht problem that Bowles gets blamed for.

Doing nothing is not a solution and saying the Bucs had bad special teams players is a cop out.  Watch the new ST coach coach up existing players better than the previous two.  That old man knows this.

Bowles is not ready to commit extra roster spots for special teams like Belichick did.  Because then it would mean the Bucs would have to cut depth in other areas to field more special teams players.

There is at trade off and a price to pay to have more special teams players on roster because this isn't madden.  It means one less guard, one less defensive tackle, one less RB, etc.

Bowles is 35–33 as a head coach. He went 8-9 with Tom Brady. There are a large number of things that are his fault. I think Licht shares some of the blame as well.

Todd didn't even know how to call defense and you are suggesting he was reviewing offensive play calls; all this without a defensive coordinator?  What a shit show of an organization.

i am not sure how any of us can really remain passionate fans of this team given this malpractice.  they bring back Bowles who the team quit on, you don't force him to hire a DC, and then the guy is so shitty at calling defense, he gets involved in the side of the ball he knows nothing about?

Bowles clearly a big reason Evans left but holy shit....this is a make or break year for Licht....looking at day 1, he's basically thrown in the towel on this team.  We are back to the pre Brady days, that lost decade we will call it 2009 to 2019

but hey there's some positive to that in not giving a shit about the team on Sundays is likely better for our health.

i would have to think the guy they gave $265 million too

Evans is a starter/support player with the 49ers for the next 2 years

Evans means more to Tampa then he did to the rest of the NFL.  Id be surprised if it was not Evans picking a new number

be like Davante Adams going to the Rams and taking Stafford number or Hopkins going to the Ravens and taking Lamar's number.

Evans was known to the BUCS to be out the door:

Former Bucs running back Shady McCoy, speaking on his weeknight show “Speakeasy,” said he was chilling with Evans at Evans’ crib over the weekend and Evans tipped off Shady that it was a real possibility he was going to San Francisco.

“I was actually at his house Saturday,” Shady said. “And we talked about free agency. And he didn’t tell me he’s going to the Niners. But he said, ‘Yo, there is a great possibility I’m going to the Niners.’

“He was like, ‘Oh, I like them.'”

and this little tidbt

"Speaking on his MMQB show, Breer noted how the San Francisco 49ers were in on trying to acquire big-money wide receivers Alec Pierce and Romeo Doubs. Pierce and Doubs, both 25 years old, were high-demand players in free agency. Pierce re-signed with the Colts yesterday for about $29 million per year on four-year contract. Doubs moved from the Packers to the Patriots today on a reported four-year, $68 million contract with a maximum value of $80 million."

Romeo Doubs - 4 year $80

Alec Pierce - 4 year $116
