They finished 4-4 after starting 0-8. That’s not quitting
fun with numbers?
4-4 includes a 1-5 end so that is hardly confidence inspiring lol. I mean just look at the 2025 seraosn and all the fall out from that and realize it comes after multiple playoff runs.
Schiano's teams finished at the BOTTOM of the division both seasons

Pulling the plug on Schiano and Glennon was a mistake. If you say it wasn’t you’re wrong.

Honestly, who cares?
You post that kind of nonsense all the time even though its ALWAYS undercut by reality. Schiano was never a HC in the NFL again. Glen non was a back up for 6 or 7 different teams

Checkmate.
The reason it matters is because dumbass Bucs fans and media can’t understand why Bowles didn’t get fired.

JC can you name any of the many players you said the Bucs missed out on or mishandled (aka the JC All-Stars) who actually went on to substantial success AFTER the Bucs? I can give you Thomas Jones, but after that its:
Luke McCown?
Scotty Miller?
Schiano?
Glennon?
"Emmitt Smith"
Its kind of a tired troll, right? Maybe time for something new?
This thread has degraded. Let us all get back on track. No need to be like the other Buccaneers forums.

they were Bucs? Oh okay missed out on.
How about actual Bucs players that went on to stardom somewhere else?

Just my two copper on the subject at hand and because I enjoy the conversation happening with the differing viewpoints. So it wasn't like he was a phenom.
Well, he was sort of the "it guy" at the time having interviewed for the HC role at Denver (I think), but the real thing was Josh Freeman. Its easy to see the Glazers disgruntled over Gruden never drafting a franchise guy and Dom saying to them . . . "we can fix all of that."
I hated the Raheehaw hire all the way around. I felt like Gruden was held accountable (rightfully so) for a poor performing defense that collapsed when Monte decided to join his asswipe of a kid up in Tennessee. I lost even more respect (if that was even possible) for Raheehaw when he gave the "little boys and underwear" press conference which was a huge indicator to me he was WAYYYY out of his element. Then, the asshat administration of Raheehaw and Domanik traded up to draft a QB in Josh Freeman with a ton of red flags that all the reputable scouts had warned teams about allegedly (raw, inconsistent, boom or bust, poor accuracy, no leadership, etc.) to fit their narrative of a "franchise QB" in spite of those red flags.
I haven't seen Licht do any of those boneheaded things yet. I hate Bowles as a head coach because he rides his reputation of being a good to great DC (at times) into head coaching positions that he really isn't qualified to hold. Just look at the differences between the two SB winning HCs and Bowles. That's all the difference I need to see to know he isn't going to amount to shit down here regardless of the talent around him that is provided by Licht in the GM capacity.
And no, I do not believe for a second Licht is cooked.

Great take. Agree with much of it.
I cut out the point above, which I agree with, because it could be that what we are seeing today is a version of the Glazers educated by the event above where perceived NEED drove everything. The Bucs owners believe the Bucs NEEDED a franchise QB and so just like a bad move in the draft (need over BPA) they didnt wait for the right opportunity to present itself. They impatiently made it happen with the most readily available resources, Dom and Morris, and by reactively throwing out Gruden.
I also cut out this excerpt because it parallels the current Bucs in another way. There is always a cost to a Super Bowl. The cost of the first Super Bowl was an empowered Gruden who took down McKay, installed his own GM, skipped Aaron Rodgers for Caddy etc.. This set al of what followed in motion. In the current era the cost of the Super Bowl (probably worth it) was the 2021 run it back draft and contracts followed by the unexpected and dysfunctional 2022 "run it back" season. The Bucs have spent 23, 24 and 25 and maybe now 26 digging out from those moves

This. I do think the Buc’s are on the other side of this now. When you look at the totality of injuries in Tampa last season and conclude we will be a healthier better coached team in 2026, it’s easy to see why the Bucs are the favorite to win the division.
JC...you certainly have some interesting takes
it's not so much you go out on a limb at the time...say Sean Tucker...who is currently playing and buried on depth chart. I will give credit where credit is due. I said he wouldn't top 2024 numbers and he indeed did. He may have only had 354 total yards in 2025 compared to 417 in 2024 but his TDs were 8 versus 3 so i will give you the win there.
but you consistently adamantly argue about players and coaches whose careers have reflected the next decade that they indeed sucked (Schiano, Glennon, McCown, etc.)
I forget, were you a Kyle Trask super fan as well?
do you go against logic to troll or is this how you live your life in other aspects as well?
