Godwin is, by far, more productive per target yet Egbuka is force fed the ball over 50% more often.
Yeah emeka is ass
Godwin had 2 drops and has zero zip
He's nothing more than a TE check down at this point
Godwin and EE need to be running deeper routes. They are not WR's that are going to make people miss on screens like Tez or Irving Jr.
Robinson just does not understand his personnel.

It's exactly this. Robinson is just running an offense that completely ignores rhythm and skill sets.
He's not good. He's not awful but he's not good
Godwin and EE need to be running deeper routes.
Eh, I'm not sure that's the answer. Godwin is clearly waning. EE can't make a catch unless the ball is put right in his breadbasket. Making him run deeper routes won't make his catches any easier.
Hurst needs to be running deeper routes and getting more targets. And the team needs to find out if he can handle #1 duties. If not, they need to find one.

lol, the new boogie man
I said it during the game, and I feel it's worth mentioning again....If he doesn't pull his head out of his ass, he's in danger of entering Michael Clayton 2.0 territory...For his sake and the teams sake I hope he wakes up, does an honest self evaluation and works at his craft to get better. Godwin is a shell of his former self, and Evans was the glue that held this room together, he held the room accountable and kept recievers in check....It's great that EE has confidence that Evans helped instill in him, but his performance the end of last year carrying over into this year has been that of a 3/4 WR not that of a 1/2. Robinson certainly isn't helping matters, but EE is dropping passes that a number 1 needs to make, and his effort on some routes(especially on that late INT) was piss poor.

Been saying this for a few weeks.
Need to see if he’s an alpha, because we sure as hell know the rest of the group isn’t.

Yes the reason I said "boogie man" was because Egbuka is probably the least of the Bucs problems on offense. And he is probably more WR2 than WR1 anyway.
You canNOT really be a WR1 if you struggle to break free from man. Godwin is a really easy example of that because Canales put him outside and he disappeared (compared to his normal contribution). Egbuka is more Godwin replacement than anything and the Bucs obviously see it that way too or they dont draft Hurst.
The change last year for Egbuka was similar to the Godwin change with Canales in that we all saw Egbuka unable to play outside and against heavy man. That was destined to be even worse this year because there is no one else and then this crazy offense has made it even worse, then throw in an UNDRAFTED FREE AGENT QB slinging balls high and wide yesterday etc. So, before Egbuka = Clayton 2.0 (ouch that one hurts) we probably at least need to see him with an NFL QB and in a decent NFL offense. That may mean 2027 lol.
Anyway, so yes Egbuka has to play better BUT NO he is not going to come up with the TD throw that Daniels missed, he's not going to successfully defend a pick that is not even in the same zip code etc. Those are both QB issues and to the "boogie man" point those throws are 100% on Mayfield if he is in, but because its Daniels . . its Egbuka . . when really its Daniels (and from the same lot that were suggesting a brewing QB controversy). Daniels was an UFA for a reason and we all saw it yesterday. He quite literally lost the game for the Bucs in the 4th quarter BUT were they ever really going to win with a UFA rookie QB throwing FORTY PLUS TIMES?

I agree with you that in a lot of ways it does fall on Daniels being the QB throwing poor passes, but too many times if you go back and the reason I called out that last pick is that yes it was a bad pass, but EE was also not running full speed on the route....If he had been the pass might not have looked as bad as it did....Not calling him out for his defense once the pass was picked but the lazy route run, which his routes haven't been as crisp as what they were early last year. Also on the TD pass that was missed, he he laid out for it yea it might not have gone to the house but it'd likely be a completed pass....The better number 1's in the league make that catch more often than not. We do need to see Ebuka in a legit offense with a legit playcaller, and assistant coaches to see what he truly is, but if by the end of 2027 he still hasn't put it all together then he will probably start getting phased out...going back to him being Godwin clone I 1000% agree. Every WR we have outside of Hurst is a Godwin clone. I hope we see more of Ebuka in the slot going forward with more Hurst out wide playing closer to the Evans role with the 50/50 balls and the big bodied physical play.
Not sure what happened to him he was off to a great start as a rookie and then pretty much busted it up after. He's maybe a step under Michael Clayton at this point..nah can't be is he?
Every WR we have outside of Hurst is a Godwin clone.
our takes are very close and in particular I agree about them all being Godwin clones
Different topic, but I am not sure Hurst is that much like Mike Evans. I think Hurst is an X but I thought Evans was substantially BIGGER? Maybe as much as 20 pounds bigger? Could be wrong but it was his size combined with another thing I dont see from Hurst - deceptive breakaway TOP END STRIDER speed - that made Evans so good.
Hurst is probably 40 yard dash faster than Evans was as a rookie, but Evans had sort of Moss-esque "raise my hand before i even get past the defender" top end speed so he was really good for just chucking it down to him and letting him sort it out.
I think Hurst can be a good X but maybe not that kind of physically dominant receiver.
Sort of like Egbuka plays the Godwin role, but doesn't seem to be even close to Godwin on the physicality scale
Godwin lost 2 seasons in his prime because he stayed in for garbage time.
This forced Licht to pay him to be completely unproductive.
Everyone hated and agreed with the Godwin signing. Myself included. You had to do it.
And now we have a wr making $20m/year who can get you 3 catches 35 yards a game.
@bucsbits Our takes are typically pretty in line for sure. I agree that Hurst isn't quite on the level from a measurables and "it factor" as Evans, but even if he can be a poor man's Evans its still a much needed aspect to our offense that is missing. Same with Ebuka and JMac with with Godwin...Not quite on his level, but the potential is there with the right coaches teaching him, and scheming the players properly. I think as was mentioned previously that Robinson isn't as "familiar" with his players and their strengths and weaknesses as he should be at this point so he can put them in position to succeed, while also limiting what they're not as good at. OL being a prime example....Lets run wide zone with players that are meant for man/gap/duo regardless of if it works or not. I will say he has been running less of the wide zone exclusively the past two weeks, but it shouldnt take till week 5 for him to figure out what his OL is good at, and what they're not....WR' and RB are the same. Granted having an undrafted FA QB starting meaningful games doesn't help, and severely limits what can and can't be effectively called. With that said Robinson was doing the same shit before Baker was injured, it's like first down is going to be a run into the teeth of a loaded defensive box as a throw away down. I love this team, and have been for as long as I could remember ( I was one of the only kids proudly sporting the Bucco Bruce shirts to school during the dark days of the 80's and early 90's) but damn is it frustrating to see the talent that is on the team getting wasted because of poor game-planning, poor coaching from top to bottom, and poor in game decision making, and clock management.
