@bucshot420 I am right there with you on the frustration and also on recalling the dark days of the 80s and 90s lol. Hope we are not going back.
I try to focus on the next chapter so in the context of this discussion what might we have in Hurst and Egbuka etc? How might the team change from here etc. Tough season underway but what lies ahead?
I also try to be an optimist, going forward I'd like a young innovative offensive mind from the McVay tree( or has ties to a similar system ) to develop a scheme so that current players don't have a completely new system to learn while maximizing the talent already on the roster. I'm not necesarilly saying this is my preferred pick, just a possible scenario but if a Nate Scheelhaase was to be brought in given his experience with McVay and his systems, then maybe either an old Buc alumnist like Jimmy Lake, or Demarcus Covington for DC since they run a 3-4 innovative system similar to that of Ejiro Evero that could utilize the new defensive talent without an entire schematic change, and both have relatively extensive experience calling defensive plays at both the college and pro levels.
Not sure what happened to him he was off to a great start as a rookie and then pretty much busted it up after. He's maybe a step under Michael Clayton at this point..nah can't be is he?
He's simply a Robin.
Not a Batman.
I just can't pin this on the WRs as they can run routes but these routes that Robison is asking them to run just suck.

And when we get Jeremiah Smith, he will be a damn good Robin 😉

This offense needs the run to set up the pass.
I don't think it's as much the route tree as the setup. Teams know what's coming.
How many times have we seen RPO with Daniels? How many designed QB bootlegs?

Godwin dropped two balls. EE couldn’t bring in a couple balls you’d expect your #1 to bring in. You gonna put those on the OC too?
I get it you don’t like the OC. He hasn’t been perfect, but I think he’s done an admirable job with an undrafted rookie starting at QB in Week 4 of the season.

agreed
and there's no rhyme/reason to the play calling.
I dont think Godwin is done for, I think he can still be quite productive, he just doesnt get the passes thrown his way. As for Egbuka, his hands are garbage. As much as I love Ronde, I remember him calling Egbuka a "vacuum cleaner" and catches "everything." Hmmmmm, no not so much. Hes not nearly as violent as Godwin.

Dropped balls are on wr but let's not pretend like the oc is a good one. He's having similar issues that Atlanta fans called him on last year. Now it's our problem. Great!

I’m not saying he’s great, just that he’s not bad. And again, kinda tough to grade him with Baker playing dogshit for three games and then having to gameplan for an UDFA rookie QB.
I’d say he’s been mid so far.

exactly. Its not easy to have an UFA QB, but the offense has not looked right all season.
More Godwin? Yuck. Unfortunately, his injury history has taken a toll and he’s just not as explosive as he used to be.
Bucs need to shed his salary this offseason and move on.
I’m staying patient with Egbuka. He’s been limited by Zac Robinson’s scheme and play calling.

i think you have to.
He didn't suddenly forget how to play football. He may not be a man beater, but the guy should still be a good receiver

Yes there have been drops by Godwin, EE and Otton this season but they are all possession guys and they are asked to run screens they have no business running. It drove me crazy when Gruden would call screen games with Keyshawn and ignore Karl Williams. If the fear is an errant pass then put Hurst out there on screens or K. Johnson since both are tall enough and both have more explosion to separate. Hell I would trust Tez more in the screen game to make something out of nothing.
