Look, if you want to make the argument that Bruce Arians ran the offense that's likely accurate and plausible because that is who Bruce Arians is/was as a head coach. That does not at all imply Leftwich was the water boy on the sidelines. In fact, this is what Arians himself had to say about Leftwich:
"I get credit and Brady gets way too much credit for what Byron does with our offense. One of the reasons I hope he gets all the credit he deserves this year is to get a coaching gig; you know, he had about four or five teams real interested last year." AND THIS AFTER HE WAS FIRED (which was a Turd Bowles move): "It was very hard for me, but it’s Todd’s football team. I handed it to Todd for a reason. He’s got to build it in his image. There’s no hard feelings between the two guys; the philosophies just didn’t match. . . . I got all the trust in the world in Todd Bowles, but I feel terrible for Bryon. I think Byron will still be a head coach soon and he should be.”
So I will take Arians praise and assessment over anyone's here including my own.
Related to what he did after he was fired, please produce evidence that he was "begging for a lot of job interviews" because I don't think it exists. I have looked at many sources. All of them talked about him spending time primarily with his 14 year old son, so I am curious what source you have stating he was begging for interviews. What I do know was he interviewed in Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, and New England. He had requests for interviews from New Orleans and also Denver if I recall correctly. teams were interested in him in a lot of different capacities.

I think there's been two stories of baker. On one hand he's been an MVP type put the team on his back and make plays guy. Then there's a part of that I think that is why he isn't as consistent because that style can be reckless and he's not a big guy. Body can break down over a season doing what he does. However if you keep him clean he doesn't have to do those things quite as much and he can make plays from the pocket like you normally want to do. So I think it's a game where we see what can happen if we get more consistency there and if that's the case you don't want to think about doing anything else just get him signed but I can see why they haven't yet.
Licht did the right thing picking up a 3rd down specialist like KG. But the Bucs need another guard to compete at LG with Bredeson and Schrauth. Mayfield took a beating up the A gaps and the is very similar to Jeff Garcia in style of play.

How do you account for Mayfield's play in the pocket the first six games (within the offensive scheme) vs. the last 11 games within the offensive scheme? Why is there such a difference in QB rating? These facts take away your improv argument.

We all watched the games dude. I get what you're asking for but the reality is Baker is key moments put the team on his back, often via his legs, and won games.
AND YES, he also got worse in the pocket... Which I hypothesize as a symptom of his arm/shoulder/abdomen injury. All of his throws he was second guessing. The wind up looked slower. The anticipation suffered etc. his confidence suffered... Grizz had to know all of this and yet he kept running slow developing long plays. He was asking Shaq to shoot threes that are wide open.
His legs, strictly from memory:
Bucs Texans - multiple hug runs including a 4th down run under duress. Literally won that game with that play.
Bucs Jets - huge runs down the stretch including a 35 yarder that set up the game clinching Fg (that was blocked) after Grizz went hyper conservative. Then another drive to win it with key runs. Literally all Baker. ST and defense shit the bed.
So that's 2 games right there
Then multiple key broken plays where he extended drives vs the eagles... The long throw to Egbuka TD, and the long throw to Bucky TD all were improved and had nothing to do with the original play design. 14 of the 25 points scored. Baker with a bad pick in the end tho. He couldn't muster the miracle comeback. ST shit the bed. Eagles went hyper conservative on offense.
Then he has his best game of the season vs the super bowl champs on the road. Played a near perfect game. Extended plays. Didn't take off an run a bunch but he extended plays over and over. 100% Baker win yet again. White averaged 2.9/carry in that game.
Niners game, Baker yet again wins the game, largely with his legs. That 3rd and long run was iconic and clutch. He does this with almost all his weapons gone and a run game held to 4/carry. Tez had that incredible diving TD catch.
6-1. Baker is the front runner for MVP. Then we go to detroit with Evans back and Baker hides an injury. Plays like crap, we chuck it up deep to Evans 5 times and he's gone. Gameplan was an absolute joke. Otton hands an interception over. Awful game in primetime per usual.
We win ugly vs saints.
Baker bounces back and plays well vs Patriots but the defense can't stop a run. Grizz goes 3 and out often and can't figure it out until we are down 2 scores late in the 4th.
So at this point we are 7-3 and Baker has really only had one "bad" game vs the saints but that would have looked different if we weren't playing with a big league and the saint weren't such a joke. Tucker couldn't punch it in from the 1 yard line with 4 tries.
Now it all falls apart...our defense allows 44 vs the bills and blows a decent lead. Baker uses his legs yet again efficiently but the pass game looked ugly. Egbuka with key drops. Players running routes into each other etc.
Rams game, we all know what happened there.
Then the rest is ugly as fuck and baker plays sub par ball.

A NFL organization isn’t McDonald’s. They don’t a stick a “NOW HIRING” sign in the window and see who shows up. They call agents to set up interviews with people they want to interview or hire a search agency to do it. Leftwich begging for the job interview, which he was ignored and didn’t get, was definitely news to you - like every other fact that I laid out. He most definitely was not turning down NFL jobs to hang out with his kid, like you believed. Obviously you aren’t capable of owning up to it. He wanted to stay in coaching, but the league saw his play designs & concepts and said no thanks. He’s been trying for over three years now with bupkis to show for it.
