For my two cents Grizzard latched onto quickly with the Eagles while Leftwich found it very slow for activity for his services. I just think Leftwich while brilliant in certain situations needed oversight. Maybe that is a similar outcome with Grizzard and he does better taking a step back into a role he is very, very good at and he works alongside with Mannion now.
This arguing over Grizzard and Leftwich ignores the fact the Bucs had Tom Moore and now Zampese on the staff. How can the offense be in such a tail spin with these people around the organization? I want to believe that bringing in a new—and likely better—OC than Grizzard will help smooth some of that out. And if you factor in health, because like others have said, every team deals with injuries, you’d expect the offense to look more like it did in the first half of last season. Still, even with the additions on defense, I can’t shake the feeling that the defense is what’s going to hold this team back again this year.
As for Baker’s contract, I really think he’s got to show some consistency this season. There’s no way I’d be comfortable just signing off on $50M per year in the final year of his deal with how streaky he can be. I’d need to see him level that out first. That said, I still think he’s the best option the Bucs have at QB right now.

Resources have already been acquired, and they have a cost and are reliant on a QB that can maximize their performance.
Another ad nauseam topic resulting from Baker’s devaluing is - any new QB you introduce won’t contribute immediately. Sure, his contract value will cheaper, but that’s because his value won’t contribute as much as what Baker has contributed/can contribute for the next 3-5 years - but also (and as you pointed out) the history of this franchise (most franchises) is that they don’t know how to draft a QB.
It’s shocking to me that so many Buc fans are staring at the same data and come away thinking that they too would rather just go all-in on Deshawn Watson or Jordan Love?
