Tampa will be back to being a defensive team. We should all be excited about that.

If Robinson and the offense lays multiple 0, 3, and 10 scoring games then yeah the defense will have to bail out the offense a lot.

Don’t see that happening much (assuming Bowles stays out of the offense).

They won a super Bowl with their MLB pick as a huge contributor lmao.

He was a liability that entire season when he wasn’t getting unblocked, free lanes at the QB.

THANK GOD we had another ELITE linebacker (something White never was at any point in his career) to bail his ass out every week.

White's playoff run was amazing.  Hopefully we have another elite LB who will improve on his sophomore #s and ability from college.

To be clear, I am not interested in us returning to a defensive led team like Dungy ball.  I rather enjoy putting up more than 17-20 points a game.

White's playoff run was amazing.

The divisional round against NOLA was his one great game and a complete outlier when compared to the entirety of his career.

come on lol

In the Super Bowl he led the team in tackles (12) and that included 2 tackles for a loss.  He had an INT, I thought?

In the NFC championship he led the team in tackles and had a key fumble recovery.

That division game was a key stumbling block. Drew Brees. White led the team in tackles, including a TFL. He had an INT and Fumble recovery

This is from Scott Smith:

The Buccaneers' rising-star inside linebacker was on the reserve/COVID-19 list when Tampa Bay started the 2020 playoffs with a Wild Card win in Washington, but he managed to make up for lost time in a big way. White not only led the team with 38 tackles (12 more than the next man on the list, Lavonte David), but also added two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. In each of his three playoff appearances he either tied or broke the Buccaneers' previous record for most tackles in a single postseason game. That included his team-leading 12 tackles in Super Bowl LV.

That gave White a total of 38 stops in three games. League-wide tackle totals are available beginning with the 1987 season, and in the 34 postseasons that covers, only two players have ever recorded more tackles in a single playoff run.

White is the first linebacker since Pittsburgh's Ryan Shazier in 2016 to have multiple interceptions in a single postseason. He is the first linebacker to have multiple fumble recoveries in a single postseason since Atlanta's LaRoy Reynolds in 2017. He is the first player at any position since Green Bay's Tramon Williams in 2010 to have multiple interceptions and multiple fumble recoveries in a single season. Only six defenders have accomplished that feat, including just three linebackers.

Since tackle totals became available in 1987, White is the only player to record 30-plus tackles, two-plus interceptions and two-plus fumble recoveries in a single postseason.

I’m old enough to remember when the simpletons used tackles to say how great Barrett Ruud was.

They’re a cute bunch.

That's weaker than "you're" usual weak.  Must be worn out from that recent red flag incident.

I don't think Peter King was asked about Barrett Ruud?

This is King defending his vote for Brady as SB MVP.  Not sure whey he mentions White . . . :-)

"“So I voted for Tom Brady for Super Bowl MVP, and on Twitter and in emails, I got the general reaction of: The defense won the game,” King wrote. “Why Brady? A valid point, and if someone picked Devin White or Shaq Barrett or one of the other defensive linemen, I wouldn’t have thought it was a bad pick."

Yeah, the linebacker who struggles with tackling is generally a huge asset...

Lolz

Jesus…he wasn’t even the best LB on his own team that night.

FFS…

Devin was an 2nd team as well.

But, sure, the same “simps”.

You know, the same “simps” that made a 900 yard, 5-TD, Cole Beasley an AP 2nd team?

Or, in 2019, make a receiver an AP 1st team that didn’t rank in the Top-10 in yards or Top-15 in TD’s?

The AP loses credibility as every year passes.

Devin had a really good divisional game against the Saints. That’s about it.

And, again, it was clearly an anomaly/outlier. That’s not debatable.

Yes, I have only said that you can see the parallel that Bowles might make given White's 2019-2020 performance. Put Bowles in with the DH/Biggs List of Simps that includes Arians, the Bucs, the NFL All Pro Committee . .
