We didn't depth to make a second run at key positions.

Makes sense.

Solid point.

Florida doesn't produce NFL QBs. Never has and probably never will.

Agreed. No idea why Vegas wasted their first overall pick on an Indiana QB. Why did the dumbass Chargers waste on a pick on Justin Herbert after Akiki Smith, Joey Harrington, Dennis Dixon, & Marcus Mariota all failed? Why did Cincinnati take Joe Burrow and Washington take Jaden Daniels after Jamarcus Russell busted?

Why you continue making this foolish point is beyond me. You’ve been repeatedly given the long list of QB’s that came from colleges that hadn’t produced one ever, or in many decades at best, until they did.

translated. It’s a near certainty that UF will never produce a meaningful QB.

The most meaningful QB in the last 2 decades from FSU can’t comprehend “no means no” and gets cucked by low-T quarterbacks from the West Coast

So, there’s that.

I mean I can't tell what you're saying here but I assume is it sarcasm because it touches one of the very few nerves you have in Florida QBs.

You've made fun of the Ducks plenty. And they have plenty to be made fun of... We are the god damn Bills.

But you lose your sense of humor here for some reason. I don't get it... You and biggs.

Nobody dares make fun of your college football team.

In the end, I'm just having fun. Maybe you are too and I'm just not reading it right...

To the original point

We took trask over needed depth.

Florida fans painted a narrative and that was, like all Florida QBs (literally), foolish.

The program doesn't develop QBs.

And I'm not saying Ducks are QBU but there's very few colleges that are worse than Florida at QB if you factor in the level of talent they constantly find at the position.

Go re-read the part I quoted. Then you'll see the sarcasm.

Has nothing to do with Florida QB's.

And, you'd be wrong, it doesn't touch my nerves.

who still managed to get another job this offseason

It also should mean he wasnt here because he was Bowles friend lol. .  Maybe hes Campbell's friend too?

Is Trask even in the league anymore? I think there were people here suggesting Bridgewater was a sneaky good pickup. . .  before he got called into action.

I thought he would be a better 2nd option than Trask. If for nothing else he had actually won games in the NFL.

Not sure it was wrong, but I’d rather have Browning than Teddy B, or Trask (which isn’t saying much). I’m not a big Browning fan, but can he step in for a game or two with any expectation of being competent enough to win? After last season, I’m not so sure anymore.

Browning isn't good. I'd consider him a middle pack backup QB.

When you play from behind in a offense with 2 stud wrs it'll make you look better than you are.

given how poorly Bridgewater looked,

He didn't look bad. He looked like he wouldn't make the Canadian Football League.

How the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck did Trask lose out to this noodle arm statue?

Absolutely insane that he was out backup.

Trask didn't lose out to Teddy B.  Teddy B was Bowles friend and that is the best explanation.

Is there actual evidence for this? If so... Jfc

Dean was making business decision last year when he failed to make tackles and was looking for his next paycheck.  Teddy B lined up a Lions gig quickly too.

Bowles is buddy buddy with Dean and Teddy B but they both stabbed him in the back. Maybe Todd Bowles will learn to not be so trusting of players looking to just collect a paycheck?

I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just wondering where the proof is

I saw enough with his bromance with Dean.  T. Smith was benched for doing less than what Dean did out there on the field.

This year at least there are no more loafers in the secondary or front seven so that is a silver lining.

As FireBowles said UF has never put out a legit NFL QB...I won't say that they never will, but as a lifelong Gators and Bucs fan I'll honestly sit here and agree..For as much love as fans have for Spurrier, and Meyer, their system' never aligned with what has been successful in the NFL... Spurrier' QBs were great for his system, same with Meyer. I also don't think it's coincidence that the only Offensive Coordinator that's been there in the past 35 years that went on to success in the NFL (Weis was a has-been at that point) was Trask' OC at Florida (Brian Johnson)...

Back to the point at hand though....TB has had a few decent QB's over the years, two very good Qbs, 1 great QB, and a lot of dogshit QB's...Right now Baker is in the decent QB category.  Until he starts getting some wins in the playoffs, and potentially a championship he'll stay there.  I'm glad that Tampa is taking a wait and see approach with him because as much as I love his grit and passion, he is also stubborn in that he'll never come off the field if he's clearly injured and a detriment to the team... It might end up costing a little more on his salary if he lights it up this year in a system that's similar to the one he's had the most success in, but if he falls flat like he did at the end of last year then that will only bring his number down at the negotiating table...As for TheKnees post about his last several games last year being the worst in franchise history...I'd like to point to Trent Dilfers 4 TDs over a 16 game season back in 95 and say that for as poorly as Baker played during the stretch he was never even in the same zipcode as far as bad QB play goes.

It wasn’t me who claimed Bakers run at the end of the season was our worst showing ever. It wasn’t even close to our worst.

I'd trade the duck's QBs marginal NFL success in a heartbeat for your chips so...

There are greater tragedies in life.

What I don't like is when our management makes business decisions with college fans in mind.

Ie - drafting Florida (all college teams) to get butts in the seat.

It didn't matter in the end because they both ended up being backup QBs but that why PR lobbied hard for Winston and it's why Winston was the choice over Mariota.

I think of other players and I can't help but wonder how much of a factor that played with VH3, Aguayo, etc.
