"[Missouri] never asked him to cover."

Of course they didn't, Todd.

That's why over 47% of his total snaps last season were in coverage.

“That’s not his style, but he CAN cover"

He was graded 710th out of 809 qualifying linebackers in coverage.

Astute analysis, Todd.

The cutest part is the leghumper continues to fall for coach speak. Like, over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Lolz @ a linebacker never being asked to cover and the simpleton gulps it up.

Are we thinking that maybe Todd is the problem now? Maybe?

I think he is the problem.

I’ve said it for years.

Had the chance to push the franchise to a more positive trajectory last offseason and the Glazers turtled.

If there was a pick this year that was Bowles it was Trotter. The other day Bowles noted he's been watching him since high school and he's definitely a Bowles-style downhill LBer.

will be interesting to see it play out

Insightful analysis, as always.

Trotter is noticeably absent from this list, while Anthony Hill Jr. & CJ Allen are both mentioned back-to-back:

Ind

CJ Allen, LB, Indianapolis Colts (No. 53)

Despite not having a first-round pick, I was a fan of what the Colts did in the draft. Indianapolis added multiple players who should contribute right away, with Allen being at the forefront.

After trading Zaire Franklin to Green Bay, the Colts have snaps available at inside linebacker for Allen and fellow draftee Bryce Boettcher. Allen is an excellent defensive quarterback with good instincts, a feel for zone coverage and pass-rush juice (3.5 sacks last season).

Ten

Anthony Hill Jr., LB, Tennessee Titans (No. 60)

Hill's versatility is why I think he has an easy pathway to playing time. He is a highly skilled athlete with the ability to make plays from sideline to sideline and flip the field (17 sacks, seven forced fumbles in a three-year college career). Whether he plays as a stand-up inside linebacker, rushes the passer off the edge or drops into coverage in sub packages, Hill should be a busy and active player for new Titans coach Robert Saleh.

Tampa will be back to being a defensive team. We should all be excited about that.

If Robinson and the offense lays multiple 0, 3, and 10 scoring games then yeah the defense will have to bail out the offense a lot.

To be clear, I am not interested in us returning to a defensive led team like Dungy ball.  I rather enjoy putting up more than 17-20 points a game.

You are going to get more C. Christensen than Les Steckel with Robinson.

Robinson wants to run a lot of 2 TE formations and run downhill.  And the wrinkle of shotgun passing plays.

That works fine if your offensive team has a talent advantage versus a defense.  But the Panthers have been stacking talent on defense and the same with the Saints.  The Falcons by default have the best talent top to bottom on defense in all of the NFCS.  Mac and Flores are in the NFC conference now and Harbaugh joins.  The NFC is becoming very loaded with defensive oriented teams and high level DCs.

Dude, you could have gone all preseason without mentioning Christensen. No lie, I had a pit in my stomach after reading your post.

Some times you post interesting stuff. Other times I find myself wondering what drugs you're taking.

Robinson = Clyde C more than Les Steckel? So, Coen and even McVay are more like Clyde C?

I mean, when Robinson goes to ATL he is an under center, marriage of run and pass McVay clone,  He changes to accommodate the QBs

Lol.

Agreed.

The only thing worse is the incredibly inaccurate comparison.

I apologize.

Bain is a lone bright spot along with this draft class and Mayfield for this upcoming season.

Clyde C ran an intentional 5 play Dungy playbook.

Robinson might fail, but it will not be be because he runs a 5 play Dungy playbook lol.

No, he will call shotgun every time it is time to pass the ball.

Ill bet you $1K that isn’t the case, and I’m just talking about Week One.

We can go week to week from there, if you’d like.
