It wouldn't be smart of him to loaf in a contract year. Teams will definitely see that and the contract offers will reflect that. But he's not making the smartest decisions in the world right now, so I wouldn't put it past him.

These reporters must be creating a team out of thin air who is interested. Here’s what I know. We aren’t trading him. Full stop. Now they may listen to some offers but, there is zero intention internally to trade him. If he sits out, he would do way more damage to himself and his reputation and his contract offers would reflect that.
Vea does not have leverage but if he is disgruntled he may force the Bucs to trade him. I just think the Bucs are just going to ignore the noise leading into the season. Now if by the trade deadline Vea is still playing hardball then they may decided to trade him if the Bucs are not doing so hot.

Dexter Lawrence and Quinnen Williams were both recently traded for first rounders. But they were younger, and better than Vea.
Osa Odighizuwa was just traded this year for a 3rd. He is younger, but Vea better than him.
Depending on the team and where I'm estimating their selection would be next season, I'd ask for first or second, but probably take a third and fourth.
